  1. if he's been worth -.3 WAR for the last 3 years, and 1 WAR is roughly 11 million in FA, does he have to pay the Pohlads to sign here? If so this makes a lot of sense.
  2. I personally have no more issue with Rose being eligible to be voted in than any steroid user. Both groups broke the rules both groups affected the integrity of the game (I personally disagree with the author that betting on your own teams is somehow substantially worse than juicing). MLB has made it very clear they're fully embracing gambling so it makes no sense to not allow them eligibility. Let the players who played with him decide, should be the same with steroid users. In 10-20 years let them decide on Bonds, Sosa, A-Rod, etc.
  3. Just took a glance around X and down detector, looks like MLB TV in general is on fire and no one is having a good time, so benefit of the rain delay for Twins fans I guess?
  4. Twins.tv is throwing all sorts of errors for me, anyone else getting that? Is this just a by product of the rain delay or do I need to go through support
  5. Overall I think the unis are fine, certainly are worse city connects out there. Hate the yellow, just feels really off for a Twins uniform, but the rest is meh. Certainly don't like them enough to buy them but with the costs of jerseys I can't say I like the normal ones enough to buy them.
  6. ah this is a common mistake that is actually a mojo-jojo
  7. I just don't see it happening even if the trade was just some random 16 year old flyer and cash the Twins aren't going to take on that level of salary, only way I could see it happening is if the blue jays sent cash for better prospects. I would imagine that would probably look like Lee and Gonzales and maybe a flyer to cover half his salary this year but that still leaves the 10-15 million over what the Twins would be willing to pay for next year.
  8. I'm all for it, call him up and move E-Rod to AAA while you're at it, if 2-3 weeks from nor Keirsay isn't cutting it than swap him for E-Rod, gives E-Rod time at a slightly higher comp level and every day opportunity in CF and brings up the best option we have at the moment on the AAA roster.
  9. I'd probably still lean towards Lee over E-rod mainly because of the k rate, its not awful but I don't see him walking at a 25%-30% clip once he's in the MLB, does that result in more contact and the k rate hanging in the high 20s which is manageable given his power. Or does it start to climb into the mid 30s as better pitcher are able to target the holes in his swing that seem to be there with more accuracy. Jenkins for me is still the number 1 until something dramatic happens to convince me he's not going to figure it out.
  10. I agree with this it was unlikely Santana would stay as bad as he was for the first 3 weeks (unless age hit him like a freight train) But Fangraphs and baseball reference both have Santana graded out negative for defensive value and unless he can hit like the last few weeks for the rest of the year I still don't think this was the best choice the Twins could have made. A pretty below average hitting 1B who is also not really benefiting the team with the glove is a pretty tough sell for being a difference maker for the team. *edited to add screen grabs of defensive ratings* -1 runs saved compare to league average, -4 overall bbref -1.6 def rating on fangraphs (better than Kirilloff) but bad overall on the team
  11. I assume this is about Julien since we seem to have some deep seeded dislike of everything about him, but if you look at fangraphs (just a different view) he's almost the best defender on the team
  12. yeah I get the feeling of wanting to not take advantage of an injury but if you want to stop it then it has to be umpires calling a dead ball. Should hitters go back to the dugout instead of running when outfielders collide since they could have caught it without running into each other? Should we not tag out a runner who may have made it if he doesn't pull a hamstring? I agree with Kepler, you don't feel good about it and you hope for the best for the guy but you have to run.
  13. My guess is it would be very similar to the Padres last year, sometime in the near future Diamond just says we aren't going to pay you or broadcast games anymore and the MLB takes over and throws them in market on mlb.tv until the end of the year and the Twins decide whether to sign somewhere else again or stay on mlb.tv with the presumed other 10ish teams that would be looking if diamond crumbled.
  14. One additional note on fubo, when I tried it last year on top of the 79.99 they charge the regional sports network fee if you're in the market (similar to what Comcast does) so it actually ended up being 94.98 before taxes as it tacked on 14.99 extra for Bally. Seems to still be cheaper than DirectTV stream but still stuck at minimum 100 a month which is insane
