  1. Agreed. My point about spending money was solely about testing TP's commitment to improve the team (which was the article focus) if the opportunity presents, like scenario no. 1. In other scenarios, that aspect wouldn't really get tested and anyway would fall more on the FO to make smart decisions and play the market well.
  2. My wish: To really test TPs words into action, any deal which is adding $ on the books is the true litmus test. I like no. 1 in that sense. Let's see if they can make it happen. Also, the way our roster is constructed and exclusively discussed in other articles, shipping away active players instead of all prospects makes a lot of sense. Fingers crossed for a productive exchange. Hoping to not get injury-ridden players or mediocre players who have an obscure good performance against the Twins being part of the deals. What I think could happen: Jeffers trade + random minor deals like 2023 or 2024 deadline
  3. LHP with ERA north of 5, tailor made situation for 10+ Ks and limping offense if Twins stay true to their colors. I seriously hope today is an exception
  4. That was quite a ride..Thank you CLE
  5. We will be up against no. 7,8,9 of Cle - high chances of free passes coming to bite us
  6. Bit them..Larnach against LHP...Now I am sure Cle is going to score one in the bottom
  7. SMH...Q. what would it take to advance the runner Ans: last out of the inning
  8. I am just amazed at Twins inability to play small ball and being terrible at extra innings games with ghost runner...guardians doing their best to match us though
  9. We have tried hedging bets on platooning 1B and DH in bargain bin over the past few years and produced nothing Apparently speed was always there to be used (or even not needed) and yet we steadfastly refused to even try stealing till meaningless September games We have no contact hitter who would grind quality at bats day in and day out reliably Bunts and Sac flies are non-existent Over the years of mediocrity, what that translates into is inability to capture key moments in the game to consistently win against MLB opposition. I think its a systemic problem from top down to bottom up !
  10. Twins finished forth worst in the league and lost season series to all 3 teams below them in the standings ! That should tell the story 🤦‍♂️
  11. I found my old blog post from 2012 about Twins ineptitude in general - and it still works in 2025 The Twins school of baseball Aug19 1. How to score minimum number of runs in an inning with runner(s) in scoring position. Ground out into double plays Fail to advance the batters when nobody out either through infield groundouts or meek popup Getting struck out Never hit a sacrifice fly 2. How to give at least the minimum possible runs in an innings Exactly the opposite of all bullet points mentioned above 3. 2 strike fouls always should lead to extra base hits to the opposite batters (and K’s to Twins batters) 4. Commit more errors (more often than not in key spots) 5. Hits are more often singles which couple along with Double Plays mean that even 3 hits in an inning will produce no runs on the board 6. Keep too much for the end. So you feel like you have put up an fight and lost a close ballgame but in reality that never going to be a W ! Keep all the big hits for 8th and 9th innings when team is already down by more than 4 runs This has been a story for last 2 years after earning a reputation of a team who knows the basics in the earlier decade. Can you point out the exact reasons for such a binary turnaround?
  12. Almost felt like Cle was baiting twins to tie it so that they can walk it off later
  13. My feeling is that FO is counting on Duran to become injury prone (after heavy usage with the Twins) for this trade to work in favor of them
  14. Well..for all the what ifs - we traded right handed MLB ready bat in Rooker away with a logjam of LH OFs kept on the roster ! Shipping Kiriloff away probably would have been better in the hindsight
  15. With so many underwhelming returns, I am sure another random non-prospect could have been had even with bloated salary
  16. Surprised that Vazquez is still here :O
  17. Get Jonah Bride back for pitching and sign Bartolo Colon and Rich Hill 🤫
  18. Wish there was a 'finger crossed' emoji reaction here ! Hoping this follows Nelson Cruz footsteps
  19. This is sad...I thought they would only trade one out of Jax and Duran..Losing them both sucks
  20. Will I be correct in assuming that closer to the deadline we wait to deal remaining players, our chances of FINALLY getting someone decent it return would go up??
