As exciting as CES is, I'm starting to get weary of the prospects with high strikeout rates. They haven't been panning out as of late.

Actually seeing all that typed up, it seems like it should go without saying.

I was fine giving up Steer.  CES   is disappointing.   Hajjar is a bit of a throw in.  We seem to be trading away most of our 2021 draft.

If you're not willing to make this deal, then you're never going to acquire a pitcher like this.

For a year and 2 months of control,  I deem this an overpay.  The first time I can say that about this Regime.  It may work out.  But its a heavy pay out.

Still have a couple hours left...can we please swing another one? Or two?

CES also reportedly cannot play defense at any position. That's also concerning because he'd have to hit like Arraez or Miranda at the MLB level to have value.

Seems they sold high on both Steer and CES

Do not like giving up CES, that may haunt us down the line.

Prefer Rodon over Mahle.  Also prefer PLopez over Mahle.  Hope they get one of them, too.

At least we wont have to worry about protecting players from the Rule 5 draft next year!

Decent trade. Yes it hurts a bit, but it's supposed to. 2023 rotation looking decent if at least one of Maeda/Ober can come back strong.

Who are the SP with a year and 2 months of control traded for less at the deadline?

Running out of healthy known prospects. Wallner, and Canterino, Martin and Balazovic if they still have value.

If ownership is willing to take on salary, Snell or Eovaldi may be in play.

I'm okay with Steer, sad to lose CES ... but gotta give to get ...

Relatively uninformed though I am, I feel kind of the opposite—Steer has less power but a better plate approach and probably more defensive value, no?

With that said, if Miranda's work is sustainable and they believe Austin Martin will bounce back from this bad year, trading Steer is still a good gamble to make.

Agreed.  We traded our 1st round pick, too.   What the hell FO thinking?

This is a high end arm. A once top prospect in their system that throws hard, with good spin and has figured things out to an extent.

For a couple of maybes that play on the corner or 2B that are blocked in the org. These are not top 100 prospects(close maybe). Market rate.

At a minimum the current roster has to feel that the FO is putting them in a much better position to succeed this year.  Very aggressive, and supposedly one more move coming.  Rondon or PLopez, make it so!

When selling, the casual fans always overvalue the Twins player and are mad at the return.

When buying, the diehards always overvalue the prospects and are mad at the price.

Steer is a top 100 prospect when the new prospect listing come out.  Encarnacion Strand is rising.  I likely have him rated higher than most.  Errors is his issue so maybe loses some value there.

Great. Now Brock, what about that second starter?

We still have almost 2 hours left.  Let's hope more is coming!

Exactly. Do this. TOR sold high on Austin Martin.
