Blake Verified Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Last night, the Twins...never mind, that's all in the past, let's look to the future, the Twins playing KC at Kauffman Stadium. Whenever I think of Kauffman Stadium, I think of the days when KC wasn't good and the stands had as many Twins fans as Royals fans. Then, KC became a baseball powerhouse, sort of like the guy who was turned into a newt and got better. For a bit, it looked like KC was turning back into a newt, and their record indicates this may be so. However, the last time Twins played KC...oh wait, that's in the past and we shall refrain from looking back. Forward, ever forward. Currently, the Twins have almost the opposite record of KC: Twins are 48 and 25 while KC is 25 and 49. With that, some things to think about: Pitching for the Twins:Jake Odorizzi Pitching for KC: Glenn Sparkman Play Ball!

stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Moderator note: We're two-thirds of the way through June and the game threads have been a lot of fun. Let's keep it up (and let's hope the Twins keep winning!). If anyone who hasn't introduced a game thread is interested, we are nearing the halfway point of the season, so time will be growing short. Read through the Game Thread intro thread pinned in this forum for instructions. I have started a google doc for July signups for the game thread introductions. You can find the document in my post today in the Game Thread intro signup thread. Thanks to everyone contributing to the game threads and particularly to those who have done the introductions.

Though, at the rate I'm going, getting it right is more surprising than a screw-up.

TFRazor Verified Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 is whitchitude the only reason to burn a mother in law? asking for a friend. I've always preferred the tried and true method of placing a stone around their neck and chucking them into a lake. Less damage to air quality.

twinsfanstreif Provisional Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Weird that we would keep Cave in the line up but start him in RF and Max in CF, is that a typo?
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Poppen optioned, Stewart recalled.
TFRazor Verified Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Weird that we would keep Cave in the line up but start him in RF and Max in CF, is that a typo?Ehhh feel like they're pretty interchangeable defensively. Maybe Rocco just wants to get them both some play in different positions in case they're needed there later in the season
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Uh, so I screwed up thinking I had screwed up? How'd I mess that up?Reminds me of something I tell people: I have never made a mistake in my life. There was one time when I thought I had, but it turned out I was mistaken.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Weird that we would keep Cave in the line up but start him in RF and Max in CF, is that a typo? They've used that arrangement 3 times already this season (Cave in RF, Kepler in CF). Last night was actually the first time this year they've started Cave in CF with Kepler in RF: https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/MIN/2019-lineups.shtml
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Reminds me of something I tell people: I have never made a mistake in my life. There was one time when I thought I had, but it turned out I was mistaken. You made a mistake in phrasing that. In response to someone else saying they are wrong, you say, “I once thought I was wrong. But it turns out that I was mistaken.”
bighat Verified Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Cleveland lost today, for what it's worth. Let's get this lead back to double-digits!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Poppen optioned, Stewart recalled. pretty predictable move.....thanks for the update.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Mejia pitched a scoreless first inning for the Blue Wahoos tonight. Any word on what the plan is for him? I know he is on the 60-man IL until about 7/1 but he is out of options, so they'll have to do something with him at that point.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Weird that we would keep Cave in the line up but start him in RF and Max in CF, is that a typo?I thought Max was always considered the backup in CF as he’s the better fielder.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Ho hum, another home run. Seen it a hundred times this year already.
