Hmmm.....I see the process...one inning of torture per guy...spare one.

I didn't get to watch , I forgot it was matinee  , I just came in for a break and brought up the box score ...

UGLY , UGLY , UGLY was my reaction ...

Nothing to get excited about wallner hitting a solo homerun , hes a liability in right field , he's going to finish out the year I'm sure , but he's got to be better defensively and offensively or next spring he's going to have to earn a roster spot , maybe a permanent DH , right now he looks completely lost on both sides of the ball ...

Trade rumors think Duran will be traded today , it says the twins were asking for painter from the Phillies  but have moved on to other clubs for now ( Seattle , dodgers , yankees , toronto and a few other clubs that are interested ), it's wait and see but the better get it right and get major league ready players to substitute for our team controlled players if traded ...

Also I see the mayor twins both got traded , Tyler is going to the Mets  and Taylor is going to Pittsburgh  according to trade rumors ...

I see we demoted ohl and brought up Davis  ,

Trade the upcoming free agents, get Gasper off this roster.  He doesn't even have a position to play.  The other night he missed a pitch and almost broke the umpire's arm.  Now they won't even play him at 2B, they moved France over there.

This organization is becoming more of a laughingstock by the day.

The Mets just paid a LOT for a rental of a RP. The market is HOT and the Twins should take advantage of the high cost of RP and sell off all of Duran, Jax, Stewart, Topa, and Coulombe.

I'm amazed at the haul the Giants got.

Wallner accounted for all the run scoring in today’s game. Weird that you would single out the one player who produced a run as the problem with the offense.

It will take a pretty serious conversation to salve that treatment of Jax. Jax is an established, if not famous, MLB late inning pitcher. Jax is probably the most disciplined player the Twins have had in many years. There was brief moment where it looked like he was going to go off in a big way on Rocco.

I think Jax is almost surely going to be traded.

Wish I would have seen it

For today, one swing, your point is valid.  I love his immense power also.  But in total, he is emblematic of everything wrong.  No fielding .200 hitting right fielder.  Yet we (or at least Rocco) thought he would be a great lead off hitter?  We have far to many AAAA players and sadly Matt is one of them.

ive tried to say... the worse we play, the value of or tradable assets goes down every single minute.  Glad we at least moved Paddock

I had to listen to the Tiger broadcasters crowing about the Sheriff's outing today. 6 IP. 1 run. Efficient pitching. They were literally laughing at the Twins. Good for Paddack tho. He's in a better place

What a real interesting question is what does this team look like a year from now w/w/o Correa in a full on fire sale.

I’ve always like Jaren Duran, but this series showed a lot. If C(minus)4 gets moved it would seem Walker Janek would have to be in there depending on how much $ they’ll eat, excuse me buy a prospect.

Larnach and Wallner, the later moreso, won’t get too many more chances. Buxton isn’t going anywhere, but should see ERod/Jenkins in CF/LF combo with (hopefully) Wallner in RF.

I don’t get real excited about Lee/Rouce on the left and Keaschall/? On the right.

Pablo/Ober at the top or Ober at 3 is still good. What gets me at least excited is the bullpen could still be good potentially with Raya (maybe #5), Prielipp, and there’s some very nice prospects available that could make this team similarly competitive, but younger and cheaper w/who Rocco.

Twins shouldn't expect nearly as much for the rental of Coulombe but 2 near ready mid tier prospects is possible.

Butto was the big shock, but Giants aren't ready to give up on the season completely so it makes sense that they demanded a current arm in return.

Yeah. Who knows, Butto could even out pitch Rogers over the next 2 months considering the Mets and Giants respective history of pitcher acquisition performance.

Well stated. As perhaps the most polite member of this online community you captured it succinctly.

Mama said there would be days like this, but stands out as among the worst in Twins history.

Did she say how many days would be like this?

if I am seeing the box score results correct, in the 2nd Castro swung 1st pitch and flied out.  In the 4th, in one pitch grounded out.  In the 6th, he actually took 2 pitches to line out. Impressive plate discipline.

You're  seeing correctly.

3 ABs, 4 pitches.

So much for Falvey fixing all the things to make the Twins better (and this stuff costs nothing compared to a player). I'm wanting new owners and new FO more and more every day.

So true!  You have to, like, try to do this stuff poorly...

"We need Target Field to attract free agents" has turned into "we're getting outclassed by Detroit"

To be fair, this is just one quote from one (very recently traded) player.

A couple of things:  You don't give up young stud players you still have under cost control for a number of years.  Try being aggressive more on bases (Twins are always base to base...steal for crying out loud...make other team make mistakes).  Bring studs up earlier rather when they reach social security age (either they are players by 24 or they are not).  Sell team soon.  Fire g.m.  Next year,  don't sign pitchers coming if T.J. surgery or bottom feeder position players late in off season (outside Bader this year).  Reduce ticket/concession prices to lure families back...creating a bigger and newer fan base.  Make t.v. more available to more, at a reasonable price.

You are welcome!!!

Even with tomorrow off, what is Jax doing in the 9th inning?

Give him a few days off.

He did the same type of thing with Duran last week when he had him entering in a 10-5 game.

What a lousy game.  But very typical of Baldelli.  His team has been listless, no lifeless, for a long time.  Anyone that watched the whole fiasco could see the confirmation that Rocco "lost" this team.  The game management was circus like.  Plus pulling Jax at home for Clemens was a joke.  Personally I think MLB should ban letting players other than pitchers pitch.  It  makes a farce of the whole game.  I just think removing Jax in that situation for a position player was typical classless Baldelli.  Don't do that at home in front of your own fans.  Save that for the road.  Maybe he was told that a Jax trade was imminent and he had to be pulled but I doubt it.  The game was so bad that I almost was starting to like Audra Martin and her sideline babbling over the game action.  Ok I said almost.  I love Provus and Span but Audra sure doesn't add much to the broadcast.

This is so good. Real teams and organizations do this all the time. Our "young" players are typically 25, 26, 27 whereas in other organizations players those ages are seasoned vets.

Imagine if the Red Sox had decided to run the bases backwards or something similarly insane. The position player pitching has become quite common. It totally makes a farce out of the game. I'm against it.

All the talk about a rebuild, who here wants Rocco to be any part of that. This team has mailed it in and will be lucky to win 20 games.

I had them finishing the season in 4th place at the start of the season. It now looks like they may finish in 5th place.

The bright side:  They have positioned themselves such that they cannot finish in 6th place.
