If the general rule of thumb is "the away team sends their lower level players to Hammond" then the Twins batters are probably facing the lower level pitchers as vets don't ride the bus. I'm not sure I'm reading the splits correctly and obviously its a small sample size, but it looks to me that Outman doesn't perform too well when he's playing an away game and facing the more veteran pitchers. Hopefully the expert stats contributers on TD can enlighten everyone.

Question of the week: grade the offseason
Kevin Sheehan replied to Brock Beauchamp's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
ESPN ranked all MLB teams. Twins were only team receiving an F. I find it hard to argue with the grade -
These aren't questions but just a couple of things I looked at. Maybe I'm old school but I figure good defense and range greatly affect starters pitch counts and bullpen usage. A pitch here and there in the course of a game might go unnoticed but over the course of a season I think it adds up. Anyway, one of my previous comments in another post was about the "Twins Way" and it has to change. Hopefully I'm mistaken as it relates to Shelty as the stats reveal something but I'm not an expertFor 2025 see below Drs - Dodgers #3, Jays #4 Bucs #10 Twins #29 OAA Bucs #8, Jays #9 Dodgers #11 Twins #20 Overall Defense Jays #1, Bucs #9, Dodgers #17, Twins #22 I'm not expert and development should happen in the minors but even major leaguers need practice to stay sharp. Hopefully Shelty will keep them sharp.

Down to Four Managerial Finalists; What Each Could Bring to the Twins

From Cody's post.. "Shelton and Rowson have the inside track and direct ties to the Twins' way of doing things." Nothing against any of the 4 candidates and certainly not Cody but why would they hire someone tied to the "Twins way of doing things"? Does that mean more of the following? Swinging for the fences with 2 strikes.. No oppo field hitting.. Missing cutoffs.. Bringing the infield in when a double play gets out of an inning.. Different lineups everyday.. Pitchers who can't field... Fielders who can't pitch.. Please!! Let's find a better "Way" than the current "Twins Way"

Rocco Baldelli Wasn't the Problem
Kevin Sheehan replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'm late to the party. There are many comments and I don't wanna sound too redundant. The bottom line to me is we have a 26 man active roster. Rocco is in charge. The fish ALWAYS stinks from the head. Rookies regress, we consistently would miss the cut-off, pitchers can't field and the solution is 45 mins for 2 days (I think), can't sacrifice, can't go oppo with 2 strikes, infield in when a double play gets us out of an inning, no consistent lineups.. I'm digressing but my memory recalls gardenhire dropping Morneau to #6 when a lefty pitched. Other than that my recollection was the lineup was consistent. Buxton batting leadoff is silly. At least bat him second. If he hits a grounder with a runner on he won't get doubled up. To me some of this is common sense. I could go on. Bottom line and tho I have respect for every Major League Manager, the message has to change and he has to go. -
Twins (0ber) Vs Athletics (Ginn): 8/20/25 6:40 pm CDT
Kevin Sheehan replied to C-Gangster's topic in Archived Game Threads
Trying to pull pitches that land in the lefthand batters box is not mechanical. It seems that all that early homerun success went to his head. He's become a muscle bound Mendoza-line non-hitter at best. I'm no expert but judging by his attempts to pull absolutely every pitch he sees tells me its all in his head. It's so sad to watch. Also, the coaches have a big role in Royce's downward spiral. Shame on them -
Maybe we'll get lucky and the new limited are actually Hedge Funds who would be smart enough to bring in some folks with baseball brains similar to the Raiders with Brady. In addition, in my experience Hedge Funds, even in a minority position invest with the intent to build value in their asset and then flip it in 5 years or so. No one would invest in the team without having the ability to affect a positive upside in value. That means increasing payroll, improving the fan experience and improving minor league development. We'll need more details. In the meantime, holding out for a positive outcome is better than jumping into the river..

I need help with this. Jax has shown us that he's not an elite Closer. In my opinion he goes next. Then what? This year we're obviously done. Stewart? Louie? Who closes in 2026? A retreat? What is the direction? Tell us fans! I'm not asking for much. Give us a sign

JD is THE CLOSER. Jax is not. Now they gotta trade Griff and maybe insert LV into closer role. Anyway, Paddack said it all today. Twins on field attitude is below zero. Gotta have your head right to pitch, hit, field and run the bases. Time to start over. As I've written before; the fish ALWAYS stinks from the head. It's time to do what's right. Break it down, start over and bring up the kids

I haven't read all the comments. In my opinion, Duran is the keeper. Griff hasn't proved he's a closer. It seems to me this is a capitulation. I need help justifying this in my head. You guys are far smarter than me. Struggling to understand this

Red Sox 13, Twins 1: Is This Selling?
Kevin Sheehan replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I had to listen to the Tiger broadcasters crowing about the Sheriff's outing today. 6 IP. 1 run. Efficient pitching. They were literally laughing at the Twins. Good for Paddack tho. He's in a better place- 60 replies

Holding runners. Another basic fundamental. Like I wrote earlier, this is on the Manager and staff. Look at every division leader. They've got the fundamentals down like dogs. Time to clean house. Another TOTAL SYSTEM FAILURE. Watching this garbage is worse than cuddling with my longtime girlfriend.. 🤣🤣
-
Is it just me or more often than not when our boys have a chance to put up a crooked number and they s%#t the bed, the next inning our pitchers lose command. To me that's a total lack of any ability by Rocco and his coaches to stay the course. I've done a 180. He's gotta go. The fish ALWAYS stinks from the head. Time to cut off the head.
