I was scoffed at but didn't understand why (maybe no takers) they didn't explore moving him and is $6.5MM at the deadline. That number offsets the QO cost to Jeffers a bit, but hopefully they'll HAVE to spend for next year and resign Jeffers to a shorter type deal.

But I don't disagree with 90% of what you said.

My oldest son (18) has the congenital defect and on his MRI you could see the extra bone growth and like you they wanted to shave it down. As frustrated as I've been with BB over the years, knowing the hip impingement is most likely a torn labrum as the primary cause, it's actually nice to know because I can relate to it a bit better. There is unfortunately no overnight, quick fix to this other than going under the knife. The stretching, injections, etc. they're all temporary fixes that don't matter one bit if he/us move the wrong way. What I'd share with fans is I've had to "remake" my golf swing (it wasn't good anyway), but I can't imagine at all trying to hit at the MLB level with knowing if you do just a little too much you're going to get that quick pain. It's always in the back of my head not to do too much and that's no way to be a professional athlete.

For reference, I have a torn labrum in my right hip, which is basically a hip impingement from slipping in the mist with my driver. Right at impact my right leg shot out behind me and I looked like a hockey player on one skate (it happened on first hole so of course I kept playing). I've done both PT and had steroid injection and while the injection worked great for pain, it lasts about 6 months and I'm obviously not trying to play MLB. I'm going on 18 months since I did this and here's what I've learned and I'm not trying to compare it to BB, but we basically have the same issue. 1) From a mobility perspective I orignaly lost about 60% range of motion and have gotten about 30% of that back. 2) 98% of the time it feels completely fine and then you step/turn the wrong way or you attempt to do something athletic (twisting) and it feels like someone just took a knife to your groin. It's a sharp, isolated, jab where I'd say the pain goes from 0 to 15 in the blink of an eye. 20-30 minutes later it feels sore, but almost fine. 3) Surgery for torn hip labrum has a low success rate according to my surgeon. The shots are basically for comfort, it doesn't promote healing per say, but you can't be on that crap forever. My options are basically live with it for now or have my hip replaced. 4) Other option is PRP injections and my quote was $23,000 for 1 billion stem cells injected into the socket 2x...I go in next week to to possibly schedule my hip replacement surgery next week at age 49. I say all this because it's one of the most annoying injuries I've ever had (played in college at D2 level) and like I said it feels fine 98% of the time and then BANG! I tore the muscle off my pelvis in college and have the pelvic mesh, which felt like a gun shot when it happened and the pain in my hip when I move wrong is worse. I feel for BB, literally. It F'ing SUCKS

Missing the point. You're 100% correct about the rest of the AL sucks too, but i'm not measuring a good/bad year based on the Vegas O/U number of wins. Yes...we're right where they thought we would be, but 6 months ago we would've agreed MN was hopefully a 2nd or 3rd place finisher behind CLE/DET. My comment is solely about the Twins ability to win a WS and with the team constructed currently (regardless of who did the building) is not a WS team...yet. Hopefully we go 20-8 the rest of the way, but I doubt it and if Jenkins/ERod struggle and next year is what it is, I wouldn't have traded their opportunity for either to season more next year than. chase what is a doubtful playoff run let alone winning it.

Hindsight is 20/20 and I dare anyone in the forum (maybe a handful) who believed we would be in this position coming up on September - the position of being STILL in contention for the division and WC. They've far exceeded my expectations and I'm more hopeful for 2028 (2027 will be a poop show of a season w/lockout). If the FO isn't worried about Culpepper's development (potential abbreviated/no season in '27) they shouldn't be worried about Jenkins and I'm in the camp I'd rather see Jenkins play in '27 than get his cup of coffee this year. With our current pitching situation and current struggles offensively (2/3 of baseball) I don't think Jenkins, Culpepper, ERod will make any difference this year. I don't want to make playoffs and lose right away or win a series, this team is currently not built to win a WS and that's all I care about. Tom Pohlad knows waaay more than any of us do with regard to 2027 and the odds of an abbreviated/no season. There's a % he at least feels it may not be worth it to call Jenkins up and I'm OK with that.

That's the point, not comparing MiLB HRs to MLB HRs. Just because one is a power hitter in the minors doesn't always equate. While they're both OFs, they're completely different players. I'm neither a Roden or Wallner fan but I'd be hard pressed to say Wallner's AAA success will translate to MLB. He's simply hasn't shown it consistently. Wallner has 2 true outcomes - out or HR while Roden has always been a high contact , low power bat. It's like you're trying to compare Brian Dozier 2016-2017 to Nick Punto. Both infielders and completely different players.

I feel like the fact it's a debate is the best example of how flawed this roster has been constructed regardless of who you point the finger(s) at. With 30 some games left, at a minimum they're gonna have to go 20-10'ish to make up and hold ground IMO and anyone named Ross, Wallner, Gonzalez, etc. may help with 2-3 wins, but Jenkins and possibly ERod are the only realistic options who can make a big enough difference. On the other hand, not sure if MN has gone 20-10 at any point during the season so if the concern is lockout and development related, bring up whomever but don't try and sell fans on the fact they really want to try and go win the division or 3rd WC spot. Call it what it is. I'm hopeful for season next year and think if the Pohlads are forced to spend $40-$50 on payroll, I'm very optimistic on the future and would rather punt this year's opportunity.

Agreed. He's moving about as well as I do after 9 holes of golf. The tell tale sign was the single today as I'm pretty sure that's a double if he's even 80%

Not exactly learning anew position as he spent plenty of time there at USF and ASU. While it's been rough, it's not like he's not going to be working on the position in the offseason/spring. I think Grady Sizemore has done an amazing job taking some guys not exactly comfortable in the OF and made them "serviceable".

Part of collective bargaining is negotiating in "good faith". You can't make a QO under the pretense if Player A rejects it, you get a pick and then because of a new CBA it goes away.
