Rather keep Clemens and his versatility than trade away those guys. If they want Wallner/Lewis/etc. so be it.- 61 replies

He's got 3 years control, which one would argue are his prime years. He's dirt cheap, I for one think the Twins would be foolish to trade him and invest 1B money somewhere else. He's a fixed cost and proving he's more than a utility guy. Sorry if this is posted somewhere else.

Good points and being a rental, it would probably come down to how much salary SFG is willing to eat in relation to the prospect value. BUT, if pennies are still being pinched I'm not making a move that potentially expensive for a guy to be at the backend and a "in case of emergency break glass" arm. Just too rich for my blood for a guy who can help you win a WS. IMHO he doesn't. -

Positional scarcity and the simple fact he has remained healthy while at GT should automatically make him #1. If he simply avoids the IL he has a leg up on what feels like our entire system. Who was it that said the best asset you can have being a pro is being available? MLB had Roch #19, Emerson #24, Lackey #25, Flora #49, and Booth #110. Those were the only draftees who cracked the Top 100 (they added a few past 100) from this years class based on their most recent update.- 50 replies

Which Twins Prospects Are Next in Line?

No, but I believe if there's going to be a work stoppage and unless they're going to add $60MM in contracts there's no point to risk delaying development of prospects for a meaningless WC run. The Twins (Pohlad) "won" just be being competitive and NOT having another fire sale. I'd be almost EVERYONE would be pissed if they called up WJ/KC and they don't make the playoffs or lose in Rd. 1 and there's a strike and those 2 can't play in '27, My point is, I don't believe it's worth the risk UNLESS YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN WIN IT ALL! The Twins as constructed without a financial commitment is not constructed to win it all. I'd keep Jeffers and ultimately give him the QO. You have to see how Lackey adjusts to A+ ball. The can live with a platoon of VC/AJ next year... I'd trade RJ if they fade the next few weeks or over the winter. Probably have to see what Tigers get for Skubal first. I'd also do everything I could to keep Pablo. I don't know why as an owner/manager/GM/player wouldn't want him as a teammate. He is EVERYTHING you want on your team. Lopez/Bradley/Ober/Abel/Clemens (I am desperate to keep Kody and will put him anywhere). I'd trade Bell, Larnach, Wallner, maybe Royce, and anyone else not a 1-year deal for whatever you can get. It feels like the Vikings in that this could be over the next 1.5-2 yrs a competitive rebuild.- 36 replies

Define "go for it", please. If it's just to make the playoffs than IMHO no way. Losing in WC round does nothing. The needs for this team are too great (physically and financially) to commit going for it this year prior to a possible labor stoppage. If they come out and go 9-1 over these next 3 series, than I can make a case, but it'd be foolish to add guys like KC/WJ to 40-man and trade capital just for a 35%> of maybe making the WC.- 36 replies

I can't remember if it was written here or somewhere else, but as it relates to guys like WJ who are NOT on the 40-man, if they're on the 40-man by the time the new starts, if there's a labor stoppage, guys on the 40-man can't play in the minors. Don't know how big of an issue that is. I'd agree though in slow playing someone like WJ. If there's an abbreviated or no season in '27 (which sadly I think there won't) a year of not being able to play for prospects will do more harm than trying to make a push for a WC spot this year.- 36 replies

9 straight college arms through Rd. 10. Seems the theme are power arms with reliever risk and no control. What about LH'ed, OF bats?

Don't you think you could get someone cheaper/younger like an Alcantara? I guess he'd cost more since he's controllable (I think), but there's maybe some upside left in an arm like Alcantara. -

Having suffered watching RR in AZ for years, at this point in his career, RR does not win a WS for you. He'll make it competitive, but I don't like the odds if he's your #3, let alone #2. He'll eat some inning during the regular season, but he's hard to stomach and put hope in to despite a little resurgence with SFG. -
