Don't disagree with age/stats, but you 100% cannot be successful with a 1.75 WHIP and other astronomically high advanced metrics. He's 50> innings with 15.4 K/9 BUT 7.4 BB/9, yikes. BABIP is over .410. A+ hitters have learned to wait it out and he's obviously working from behind and they sit on FB and are having HOF success on FBs. Makes me question if the Twins don't like something in the make-up and/or maybe they're unsure he's "fixable". Who, knows, but I have no problems with this. Klein may be a AAAA SP or a middie, but Hill has A TON of reliever risk on top of being probably 3+ years away. 75% of the college arms the Twins have drafted are already ahead of him.

Using AI and referencing this "book every front office has of previous trade data", Joe Ryan (3.5-4+ WAR - NOT a 5+) would be worth a top 20 and often top 10 pick and 2 additional high end pieces. The value coming back being $35 - $60MM. I don't want to trade JR, but was interested what the AI would say. Buuuuuuutttt, taking out teams in AL Central and those fighting for playoffs or they hopefully wouldn't want to help, with prospects in Top 20 per MLB looking for SP (Seattle, Boston, Texas, Detroit, White Sox). Leaves Milwaukee, Vegas, Washington, Dodgers, Pirates, Tampa, St. Louis, San Fran, Colorado, Yankees. with Milwaukee, Pirates, Tampa, St. Louis, and Yankees being buyers. Don't think Twins get a Top 10 which eliminates Pirates and Tampa. Expanding MLB's rankings you're left with this list as a hypothetical headliner Milwaukee - #18 Luis Pena, INF St. Louis - #12 Raniel Rodriguez, C and #22 Liam Doyle (LHP) Yankees - #20 George Lombard, 3B/SS None of those as "headliners" excite me much. Of course the Dodgers could step in and say Skubal isn't enough because of Shohei's bicep, but YUCK

Kody Clemens' Ultimate Grand Slam: Three Pitches That Made History

I think it might have been on MLBTV, but I heard an interview where they asked him why he thought he was a late bloomer and he said (I'm paraphrasing) "I'm think I'm the same player I've always been, but finally getting an opportunity and consistent at bats." What I thought was spot on (can't remember if Clemens said it or the interviewer) it doesn't matter if you're from humble beginnings or the son of a HoF'er, baseball doesn't care. KC seems to be a pretty humble person and I can't imagine living as the son of any professional athlete let alone Rocket and everything in his "checkered" career.

Anyone want more cow, i mean more bat-flip from Clemens? He could've thrown it to St. Cloud for all I care

That's tough to 100% get on board with. Yes...they are making the trades, but they are employees of the owners and if an owner (not pointing fingers in Twins forum) who behind the scenes is trying to financial right the ship so to speak, the GM's hands are tied. That may not happen often, but cough cough I've witnessed it recently. I would not place blame on the GM for last year's sell-off. Great read however. In year 23 of my Dynasty League with 80% of the same owners with 20 man minors rosters included. We all think we could do better, but it's always fascinating to get a. peak behind the curtain.

In defense of trading for them and asking Uncle Tommy for $900 million over the next decade, if the LA series showed anything, the stadium will be full with Ohtani! I didn't know his nickname was the Missile due to dad, as someone else eluded about all it cost the Twins was Cash in Twins Territory it should be KCC - Kody Cash Clemens

Fair point, but totally different circumstances regarding THIS CBA vs the last CBA. There's currently incentives for prospects to trade arbitration and maybe a FA year for immediate financial security and there probably always will be. IF there's a salary floor however and a host of teams like the Twins need to come up, it may make sense for the Twins to say we like this guy, we'll over pay a little (maybe he becomes a $15/yr guy) to help us get to the floor. For established vets entering FA, while there may be uncertainty with where they're playing, a hard cap seems to only affect the larger market teams, there's potentially more money available out there. A roll of the dice for both sides depending on how the next CBA plays out.

While I've flipped and flopped over moving Jeffers, it may not be such a slam dunk. Nobody is signing anything between end of WS and CBA expiring and if there ends up being a floor and the Twins are in a position where they have to spend $60-$75MM I'd 100% see if he'd sign a 3/$39 (I don't think he should be a $15/yr catcher) and buy Lackey time while giving Jeffers another run at FA. With that being said, it feels like we should continue building over the next few years for a run around '29-'30, but we've solved a hard position to solve (catcher) and it's the same with Ryan/Lopez. We have 2 frontline starters with Taj as a #3, It's not always about projection, we have to play the games. We can fill in some pieces moving (or not) guys like Larnach, Bell, Wallner, Ober, Rogers, etc. and non Top 10-12 prospects.

OMG! Is that Chris Paddock's music?!?!? Trevor Bauer looks good on YouTube, at least he did against former pro Eric Simm. I do find it a bit odd nobody has connected Peralta to Twins since they supposedly kicked the tires on him previously.
