Not really surprising and what many here guessed would happen but it’s now official. I don’t have access to the STrib article but am posting it nonetheless. If someone with access can share any important details, if there are any, it would be appreciated.

LOVE him on the radio, and I'm sure he'll be great on TV too. I really like Attebury in many ways too. The hires/spots for them are good ones.

I know that a lot of radio-exclusive listeners here didn’t want this. I, personally, wanted Marney, but I’m also happy with Provus.

I'm primarily a radio listener too, so it'll take some getting used to for me. And who knows, maybe Marney will have a place too, either tv or radio, I would love that also. Certainly having her there would be better than Gladden in my opinion, by a LARGE margin.

Nothing real surprising in the Article.  Provus will get TV and Attebury will get Radio.

The Twins are expected to stick with their lineup of rotating analysts to work alongside Provus next season, with Justin Morneau, Roy Smalley, LaTroy Hawkins and Glen Perkins likely to be back. Dan Gladden, the team's radio analyst for 21 seasons, is also expected to return, though the Twins have made no announcements yet.

Why does this matter to the Twins, whose own contract with BSN expired last month? Because it appears no new broadcaster has offered to buy the team's television rights, or at least not on terms agreeable to the team. That likely means that the Twins will join the Padres, Diamondbacks and perhaps other former Diamond partners in having MLB produce and distribute their games, via cable, satellite and online streaming.

There is another possibility for baseball teams, however: Reaching an agreement, as Diamond has negotiated with its NBA and NHL partners like the Wolves and Wild, to televise one more season of games. That would give the teams more time to settle on a long-term distribution strategy, albeit almost certainly at far lower fees than the $55 million the Twins collected last year from BSN.

Count me among those.  I'm not an Atteberry fan at all, so this ought to be interesting.

Good for both of them though!  Best of luck with the new roles!

Love Provus.

Not sure I can handle more Atteberry. Maybe as the full-time guy he won't feel the need to talk quite so much.

Perfect description of Atteberry.  Maybe all the extra talking will tire the vocal cords.  He’s not the worst on the call but he’s got to learn to love silence as well. Let it breathe, man!

This is good news.  Big Provus fan.  As a guy with some play-by-play experience the observations of Atteberry are spot on.  I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt to improve now that he's got the gig.  I always felt that Atteberry was consciously "auditioning" for the radio gig whenever he got a chance.  Maybe he relaxes a little now.

I would have been fine with either Provus or Gellner. I think they are both very capable and I think either would have done well. Just curious...why would you have preferred Gellner?

I don't listen to radio radio coverage a lot, but I like Atteberry. That said, I certainly understand why he's not everybody's cup of tea. I hope everyone involved in this shift of roles succeeds.

More personality. She’s hilarious. She’s also a she. Would like to see more deserving women be given these ‘big job’ opportunities but she’s also pretty busy doing the Lynx and other things

The Provus news is fine. The Atteberry news is disappointing. When I listen to the radio I get the feeling Dan and Kris hate each other.

Love Cory...he'll be great on the tv side. He'll also be missed on the radio side. When Atteberry first started working with Dazzle, you could really notice the tension between the two of them. Danny didn't...and maybe still doesn't, like Atteberry at all. It's gotten better, but it's still easy to tell. For me personally...I can't listen to more than a few minutes of Atteberry without wanting to sort the sock drawer, after checking the expiration dates on the food in the fridge. Can't stand him.

Maybe this could usher in a new era of baseball listening. Living in Red Sox Nation I had the pleasure of listening to Remy and Orsillo for years. Between the baseball and the funny banter, it was the best show on anywhere. RIP Remdawg.

At least some movement.  This is a good sign that they’re not just sitting on their hands and waiting.  They would likely not share this unless they were at least in a negotiating situation.

Provus is a professional voice with lots of inside information he doesn't share.  This almost had to be an approved on purpose communication.  He also said the improved reach was a part of him taking the job.  I would bet something is finalized.

21 years just might be enough for Dazzle at this point.

It's been 22 years too many.

Not at all. Nobody's that annoying, with the exception of Hawk Harrelson.

When Twins play Bosox, I switch over to Boston's booth to listen to Joe Castiglione's when he is in the radio booth.

He11 would be an interminable debate between the two.

Allen would have to convince Atteberry that he wasn't a homer and Atteberry would have to convince Allen that he didn't talk too much after memorizing Baseball-Reference. They couldn't come out until they mutually agreed on who won.

Ah, a cage match.
