Azviking101 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 More bs umpire calls. Third today against the twins.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Hmmmm, wasn't this supposed to be the 'fair' ump?
Cris E Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Grrr. On gameday those have been balls. OTOH anything that close has to be a swing with 2 strikes on you.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 This was the berrios I was always hoping we’d have
JDBrocks Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 I just want consistency. If Berrios gets that Sonny needs to get it, too. NotAboutWinning, Mike Sixel and Parfigliano 3

Azviking101 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Another missed call. That’s 4 now!
Brandon Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Berrios still has a chance to help pitch us to the next playoff round. I believe he can do it. Just give him a chance. he can get it done over the next few innings. JNess21 1

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Let's talk about Robo-Ump. Never misses a ball or strike call. The ultimate fair arbiter for pitchers and hitters. This particular plate ump has blown two calls off the inside corner to lefty hitters. I'd say it was shameful, but what it really is, is pathetic. It is rare to see a human umpire get all the ball and strike calls right, and this one is no exception. Bring on Robo-Ump. PDX Twin, Jocko87 and JDBrocks 2 1
wavedog Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 If I remember correctly from Berrios time with the Twins - he had a tendency to start strong and then lose it in the 5th or 6th inning - Toronto may have a quick hook with him.

Hrbowski Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Two thoughts: Umpire's zones favor Jays, and Polanco looks brutal at third.
Shaitan Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 The stakes are higher today, but this feels like every Gray outing I've seen this year. He flirts with danger and typically gets out of the jam. (It's also why he rarely goes 7 IP.) PDX Twin, Mike Sixel, Brandon and 1 other 4
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Now that’s a good inning! PDX Twin, Azviking101 and Mortimerkenny21 3

SwainZag Community Moderator Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Sonny really bounced back these last 2 innings. Mortimerkenny21 1
Linus Verified Member Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Seems like Sonny is slowly getting sharper.

He pitched the elimination game in 2020, gave up one run in 5 innings and only two hits (two walks) and still got pulled after 75 pitches. And the Astros made the Twins pay.
