HokieRif Verified Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 I have no idea what a sliding lane is. And neither do those mlb donkeys in New York.
BD57 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 IMO runner deliberately sought contact hoping to get that call.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Well, Rocco did what the fans wanted him to do. Will that 'energize' the team? I don't love the rules, but going by them that looked like a block. I know I'd be ticked if I were a Jays fan and he was called out definitively.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 When did they stop playing baseball and start playing patty cake? What a crock of ****.
Battle ur tail off Verified Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Terrible call and first time I have respected Rocco for awhile. He looked right into the cameras and told MLB to F off
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Great to see Baldelli have some EMOTION! Thielbar needs to focus. That was a weak effort.
Tlaker Verified Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Baseball has screwed up so many old time rules in the name of safety..:. sigh
kydoty Verified Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 “That’s fertilizer!” says Rocco Baldelli.

notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 The blue Jays have a lot of talent but they won't win anything if they continue to make so many defensive and base running mistakes.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Well, this game certainly isn’t lacking in entertainment value.

RickOShea Verified Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Did the home plate ump call the runner out before tagged? The runner was 15 ft out of the baseline.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Worst call in the history of Target Field? Worst rule in professional sports? This shouldn't even be debatable in the first place, taking away an outfield assist at home! That's an OUT for the past 100 years. Unreal to see this game being stolen by some suits in NYC.

SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Nice to see the other guys running themselves out of an inning instead our of boys!

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 More ******* bad baserunning. WTF is Kepler doing???
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Of course we blow the baserunning........
tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 The rule is ok but a major gaff by the review umpire because the runner made no effort to slide to the side but chose to slide directly into the catcher. Sanchez had to catch the ball and dropping a leg is allowed. Merrifield could have made an identical slide as we saw from Gordon. I'm in the minority - I never wanted replay and still am against it.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 Does Kepler score on the grounder if he didn't mess up and was on third? OVB needs to tell us about the odds of scoring one more time. Maybe that will help.
