Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Lol. This offseason can’t get any worse, can it?
Brandon Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I would think the same offer from the Twins would have won us Ryu as we are in contention now.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Well,I got that prediction wrong. I really thought this front office would be different and sign this guy or Bumgarner or Wheeler. Or someone. There are zero pitchers left I want on multi year deal. I am genuinely shocked.
Kato87 Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Maybe Boras has a bias against the Twins FO. Regardless, I'm very disappointed the Twins FO this offseason..."impactful".
D.C Twins Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Just remember to listen to exactly ZERO of what anyone tries to sell you at the trade deadline this season or next off season. 'Cause you know Toronto is such a destination location that we could have never competed....er...I mean the last two years of that contract will be hard to ...... er....... what's that sound?! Choooo Chooooo.....here comes the AAAA starting pitcher express.....yeeeee haaaaah!

Might as well trade them now if that’s the case.
sweetmusicviola16 Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I was wrong. I really thought they would get this one. Big fail.
sweetmusicviola16 Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Lol. This offseason can’t get any worse, can it?Oh yes it can. Think if they pull a trade for David Price. Worse. Much worse.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Disappointing is an understatement.
sweetmusicviola16 Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 The last impact FA chip we get to watch sign somewhere else is Josh Donaldson. We have said that we are interested.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 The last impact FA chip we get to watch sign somewhere else is Josh Donaldson. We have said that we are interested.Just like all the Cubans back in the day, the Twins specialize in being in on players.... For the past three years, people here have been saying wait until they are good, then this team will act differently.....

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 The last impact FA chip we get to watch sign somewhere else is Josh Donaldson. We have said that we are interested.I have gotten the impression he is going to Atlanta or Washington. In any case, Donaldson doesn’t pitch, so his impact on the current Twins team might not be worth the cost.
akmanak Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Way to go Twins. Your pathetic attempt at lying to the fans yet again has been successful. Now you can simply keep squeezing every last dollar you can from the overblown success of last year. The owners and Management are the worst in any Minnesota sport. Sell the team to someone who actually cares about a championship. Absolutely pathetic off-season.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 How disappointing! 4 80 seems very reasonable compared to the earlier signings of the offseason. There had better be one heck of a trade upcoming
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 This offseason is now a failure. No trade can make up for it. Any such trade should have been in addition to, not instead of, free agent impact pitching. And they haven't made a trade either, for that matter. Pretty difficult to explain this away.

A 4/80 just means that last season is low risk in terms of outlay. This FO has failed since the start of the 2018-19 off season to acquire what is most glaringly needed.

RaoulDuke Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Despite the window clearly being open they continue to build this team to just win the central. Can't blame location or market when guys are signing with Toronto and Chicago. Maybe they suprise everyone and make a trade but I'm not holding my breath. Other teams can see the Twins are the one left standing so they are going to use that to their advantage in any negotiation. They had/ have so much payroll space to use...................

Takes like these. As if the Twins Daily crew are meeting with Pohlad goons in parking garages to accept briefcases of money to deflect criticism of not signing an oft-injured starter for $80million.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Front office total system failure complete. This is as frustrated as I've been with this franchise since contraction. It's one thing to be bad. It's another to not even try. Fire Falvey or sell the team. Change something. This will never work. (And yes I know neither is happening for years to come.)

They had/ have so much payroll space to use...................Best season in 10 years. Best offense in franchise history. So we cut $20 million in payroll and try to hand the division to the Sox/Indians. Short of Donaldson (he's not coming, why would he) there's no one left to spend big $$ on. Pathetic.
