Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I just can’t get over the fact that we had a guy so young it looks like he has acne pitch to the top of their order last inning.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 To talk about disrespect while we are on our way to lose our 11th straight post season game to this team seems a little out of court to me. How about we win first and worry about respect from the national media second?True, but I mean, Sano hit the home run and they were calling him Cano (Robinson Cano, Yankees 2005-2013)
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 You're committing Duffey to another inning in a game you trail, meaning he's done until at least Monday. Not to mention, as you noted, it's the middle innings. Somebody's gotta pitch the end of the game, too. Littel and Stashak are in the bullpen, they're gonna have to pitch in this series. Rocco made the right call. Duffey threw 20 high stress pitches. It was another pitcher's job to take over from there. One run deficit... and this isn't July with 81 games to go. You don't remember Robertson throwing 3 innings against us in 2017? Every other team throw July pitching usage out the window. You haven't watched the Brewers use Hader for multiple innings, Miller throwing multiple innings in Cleveland. They can rest in the off season. Why can't Duffey throw again tomorrow if he throws another inning? I've seen the Dodgers throw Kershaw for an inning after throwing 8 innings the day before. You let the Yankees stretch the lead in the middle innings... They are going to hit you with Britton and Chapman... You gotta keep it close. Baldelli doesn't use Stashak in high leverage all year but... now is the time? They can rest in the off season.
ewen21 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Not a single player on this team played in more than 1 of those 10. I am well aware of that, but it doesn't matter to me if the losses to the Yankees in the post season continue. We have seen this rerun before and it doesn't seem to matter who wears the uniform
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Gibby in... ooof, that greasy burger and fries are now a case of indigestion
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 OH BOY ITS NIBBY, GOODNIGHT ALL -HOPE WE COME BACK
Jham Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Great play by Aaron Judge. I can't dislike Mr. Judge, because, by all accounts, he's a really good guy.I'm actually a fan of many of the Yankees as players. But not Brett Gardner. He has a very punchable looking face.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 It was a good catch, but it wasn't spectacular. Judge is very human.Well, MNT1996, if that is your real name (I’m pretty sure it’s NOT!), it’s pretty dang clear which side you’re on.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Settle in, this is going to take a while.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Yankees don’t chase pitches and mostly all night our chase pitches have been too far out of the zone to be effective

It wasn't like Duffey or Berrios were effective so I have no idea what you are talking about. People have complained about Baldelli's pitching changes all year and we got to 101 wins in spite of his "mishandling of the bullpen"
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 That’s right, just walk him.... throw strikes dammit, nothing to lose
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Gibson nibbling................who woulda thunk?
David HK Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 God, that was not a good sequence by Gibby. What, Rocco, are we writing this one off already?

I'd go with let Berrios go another inning, I'd go with let Duffey start that inning, I'd go with hows about Littel actually throw a strike, but I don't think it'd be worth it to put Duffey out there for another inning. If we're gonna question Baldelli, I'd start with "Why Arraez off a sprained ankle against a LHer?"
ewen21 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Yankees don’t chase pitches and mostly all night our chase pitches have been too far out of the zone to be effective That Gleyber Torres at bat was the game in a nutshell. Two great takes and he wore down Duffey

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 6 walks and a hbp in 6+. Not gonna do it, wouldn’t be prudent

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 ... Is this the plan right now?
