howeda7 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 So I guess that's impossible and we should all go to bed?Who said that?
GCTF Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Smoltz makes a good point there. The team that wins this series will score more runs. The more you know.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 We’re still in thisExactly, 3 runs for this team, in this park is not overwhelming. Let's come back and rub their smug noses in it.
Crackedfungo Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I don’t like Brett Gardner.Loathe the little sawed off attention desperate stain.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Lets put some runs on the board!
Bomba2026 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 This game is hilarious Costas! Go get a new diaper cuz the Twins are up and yeah, don't make any plane reservations to Houston yet.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 The Twins always get disrespected in a way the Vikings don't. I don't get it.Nobody wants to be pillaged.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Ok. Through six. Need May, Romo and Rogers to shut them out. The offense needs to put together an inning or two, starting now with the top of the order. Garver, shake of the nerves and play some ball.
Krabby5 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I really hope I’m wrong, but it would be so minnesota to have One of the best seasons iN Twin’s history...only to STILL get swept by the Yankees.
ewen21 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 We’re still in thisThe problem with that is the Yankees have the last at bat and I do not think we can actually walk off the field with them making the last out. It just doesn't seem possible
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Actually, Bob Costas doesn't hate the Twins. That would mean Costas spends more than five minutes per year considering the Twins existence. You'd think that reading some of the comments.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Starting pitching needs to be better. A team that is able to send a guy out there for a clean 6 or 7 innings in a playoff game is just going to have the greater advantage because they don't overtax and expose their own bullpen as much. This is why the Astros and Dodgers are the clear favorites and why it's going to be a big uphill battle for the Twins.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Smoltz makes a good point there. The team that wins this series will score more runs.I would have never guessed that. lol An incredible grasp of the obvious.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Who said that?Seems to be what you are insinuating. My point is that there is more baseball to be played. No reason to get too worked up when the Twins are just as capable of putting up runs in a hurry. That's all I'm saying.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Best reason for a Twins comeback win: Make Bob Costas throw up in his sleeve.

Tomorrow will be a must win. Burning the bullpen for a game you have a 10% chance of winning isn't the way to go IMO.
JAWS33 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I wish they would have left both Brrrios and Duffey in longer. But I don’t think they ever gave Duffey more than one inning all year, so I guess I’m not surprised. Just don’t understand why they didn’t try it more during the year, figuring they might need him for more than an inning in the playoffs.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 You gotta hang zeros. The Yankees stretching a lead in the middle innings is a problem. You're committing Duffey to another inning in a game you trail, meaning he's done until at least Monday. Not to mention, as you noted, it's the middle innings. Somebody's gotta pitch the end of the game, too. Littel and Stashak are in the bullpen, they're gonna have to pitch in this series. Rocco made the right call. Duffey threw 20 high stress pitches. It was another pitcher's job to take over from there.
David HK Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 I wonder if the thumb is still bothering him when swinging the bat.Maybe. Shouldn't bother him trying to catch the damn ball, tho...
Krabby5 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 The Twins always get disrespected in a way the Vikings don't. I don't get it. 0-13 vs yankees perhaps?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 You'd think that reading some of the comments. Actually I don't think anyone has said he hates the Twins. He most certainly loves the Yankees however, that much is obvious.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Best reason for a Twins comeback win: Make Bob Costas throw up in his sleeve.Yes! Barf this man!
Bomba2026 Verified Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Omg every other word out of my yap is Shut the F up. I feel like I am playing the announcers...!

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 IF this game ends up being a loss, it was lost when berrios could only go 4 innings. His defense did him no favors. 3 runs should have never happened. He needed to go 5 if not 6. Like some have said all year long.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Hmm, they managed to find the worst looking stat from a 100 win team. Great work MLB Network!

I like it that way.
