I'm not a fan of giving up on a 3 run game in a best of 5 series.

 

I haven't had a problem with Rocco all year, but I'm not a fan of putting Gibson in there.

My son and I (he never suffered through the Gardenhose years) couldn’t believe they left Gibson in post third walk and then post 2nd out. He doesn’t have it. You got three walks and two outs from him. Now we are getting smoked and demoralized with two of our best pitchers still in the bullpen with little reason to come in now. Bad decision. We got outplayed AND out coached in this game.

Note to players: Mandatory sleep-in until 12:30 PM tomorrow. Dominoes tournament at 2 PM two hours before game. Must remain loose and jovial until gametime.

I'd rather have Dobnak start tomorrow

I think you HAVE to start Dobnak tomorrow. I don't want to take the chance of coming home down 2-0, and relying on Dobnak to keep the season alive. I'd take my chances with him tomorrow, and save Odo for Monday.

The Yankees have twice beaten the Twins in a playoff series in which they lost the first game. Let's have the Twins do that to them this time.

Lots of talk about the announcers tonight. I live in California and am accustomed to enduring the opposing team's announcers about 50% of the time. I have learned that the mute button on my TV can help a lot.

I'm out for now, back tomorrow, and we'll get 'em then. Shake this one off.

 

Head-scratchers, tho, abound.

 

Starting an injured LH hitter, against a LH pitcher- ummm....what? We definitely need his bat, but this would have been a perfect oppo for Schoop to get some swings, and play solid D. You can always pinch-hit him during the game, and have him take over 2nd then.

 

Putting a 15-year old on the mound in Yankee Stadium to give up a couple of dingers- that's tantamount to child abuse.

 

And the game was still within reach when Mr. Gibbles took the mound....

Agreed. Especially since the bullpen is in decent shape.
