Diesel Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 I’ve disliked Gibson’s pitching for a long time. This doesn’t change things
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 How are the fans at the stadium not just hammering Gibson coming off the mound? Get off the Minnesota Nice bulls*it! Dude needs to hear that he is the disappointment of the entire state.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 "The division's locked up", they said. "We have automatic wins the rest of the way", they said.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Why is Gibson still in this game? I thought we were trying to win. Maybe not.
jtkoupal Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Not a fan of Kyle Gibson getting booed off the mound. Yes, he didn't pitch well. No, he hasn't had a good year, and his time in Minnesota could quite well be up, but the man is clearly not healthy and has battled health issues this year. Not a good look for the fans at the stadium.
denarded Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Gibson can make a baseball game literally unwatchable. I'be never agree more heartedly with a statement in the gamethreads. I'm so sick of Gibson. The conversation of him starting a playoff game made me mad. Now he's helping to alleviate that fear because he's going to los a completely winnable game. Not to be knee jerk but just get rid of him now. This is almost comedic how 'Twins' This is going
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 I just don't get this... it's not even a Baldelli thing. Gibson is physically not in condition to pitch, and it's been clear that's the case for several starts/appearances now. Yeah, I know they're low on starting pitchers, but Gibby simply shouldn't be out there. How do you IL a guy with colitis and then just activate him after 10 days?! This is a total management failure. How do the coaches and FO get together and say "Gibby is fine, throw him out there again"? It's clear as day to all that he's not healthy enough to be pitching right now.
BD57 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 If Cleveland catches us, Gibson's fingerprints will be on the murder weapon.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Again, thank god rocco threw out his “we just clinched” lineup on Sunday.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 "The division's locked up", they said. "We have automatic wins the rest of the way", they said.I heard nobody claim they would go unbeaten the rest of the year...………..it's also the 2nd inning, relax.
bird Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Are you ready for some football? Houston's up over Tulane 7-0. My blood pressure is back to 120 over 70.
insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 This is a troublesome trend. Twins fall behind every game. And clearly Gibson is gassed and should be shut down. His performance tonite was borderline disgraceful. I mean...they guy couldn't throw strikes and put his team in a deep hole early.I hope the Twins realize that in a few hours they may very well have a 3 game lead. THEN, will some agree that these have become must wins for a team that wants to compete in post season? We barely won the Chicago series...and already 3 behind the nearly 100 loss Royals...meanwhile Cleveland is taking care of business as they should. this is clearly no fun.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Sadly, it's not. Tomorrow, and next Saturday, too, we will be interviewing prospective students for Primary 1 next year. I will spend 8AM to 6PM 2 Saturdays in a row 'interviewing' hundreds of 5 year olds. It will be like being in the stands when Gibby gets the start, and last pretty much the same amount of time. *Sob* But wait! It's not so bad! They're making up for it by rewarding us with next Monday off from teaching duties, and instead, of day of team-building workshops and activities! Yay. LOL, yikes. That's rough. Interviewing 5 year-olds, huh? What do you ask them: "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 If this dude physically can’t pitch why the F is he in There?Because Pineda couldn't be bothered to work with team doctors. I feel bad for Gibson. He's not well, but he's trying for his teammates. But he's done for the year....

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 This race is far from over, so is this game c,mon boys, No more gibby were all good now
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Couldn't get out of the second inning against the 30th worst team in baseball. While fighting to win the division. Need to shut Gibson down for the rest of the season.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 I would say it is entirely possible that Kyle Gibson has made his last appearance in a Twins uniform.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Just DFA him after the game. No need to even roster Gibson anymore. Twins FO reallllllyyyy messed up not trading for a starter at the deadline. Pathetic management move. agreed they needed a starter at the deadline. Disagree on the DFA. They can afford to roster him for another 10 days. It’s not like they can’t DFA Ryan LaMarre or Sam Dyson, but don’t burn the bridge with Gibby. As bad as it’s been lately, he’s still a league average starting pitcher over the season. It’s still very possible he can come back next year.

bird Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Seriously, if he’s physically not healthy enough to pitch he should not be pitching. God bless but wtf here. One thing we can count on is the crack mainstream media asking the tough questions about WTF Wes Johnson and Rocco Baldelli were thinking and holding their feet to the fire. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
David HK Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 I feel kind of bad making light of a guy who's been struggling all year with debilitating illness. But come on, Rocco and co. I know we're desperate for starting pitching, but obviously, this is too much to ask of the guy now. Hmph.Watch him get released, get well over the offseason, and come back to bite us in the a$$, tho.
bighat Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Attaboy Eddie. Let's wake up, offense!
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Gibson should not be on post season roster. I would prefer Dobnak, Smeltzer, even Thorpe over him.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Time for the hitters to get their dander up.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 At this point, the Twins won't be in the ALDS, they're going to be fighting for a wild card before it's all said and done. the second wild card isn’t coming out of the central
