So, Indians have Philly at home who still have a faint glimmer of hope for the wildcard...very faint, the White Sox on the road who are not good, but have a good core of talent, and finish at Washington who really needs to play well to hang on to the wildcard.  That last series is the most interesting one in baseball to me.  Two teams that need to win to get in...playoff baseball a few days early.

No d.h.  no Reyes maybe

I don't know about done as a Twin, but I would like to see us start one of the young guys and move Gibson to the pen. It isn't like we are going to rely on Gibson to start a playoff game for us (assuming we make it), so why not move him to the pen now and start Thorpe (lefty).

Because he’s worked so well as a reliever?

 

Also, Thorpe isn’t proving to be much better.

Hope Thorpe does a replay of the last batters of the first inning of his game on Saturday.

I appreciate your sentiment...I've totally forgot the Royals tied things up trying to figure out what this means :)

Help me out here.  Other than Duffey and Rogers, who is there that be put in to shut down the Royals for the next three or so innings?

Well, right now we have a pretty deep bullpen, so you can stash him there.  Obviously some medical issues this year.  Trot him out for a playoff game that gets out of hand to take one for the team.  I said Thorpe just because I like the idea of having him as a lefty starter, but you could convince me of Smeltzer too.  I actually like the idea of doing the bullpen start for the playoffs.

I'd start by looking at 2nd and 3rd base...should give you a good start
