  1. This is a disappointing move, especially if it is for service time reasons. Royce has raked for 2 months now, deserves his shot on the big league roster until proven otherwise. I guarantee he can play 3rd, 2nd, 1st, and OF
  2. I am admittedly a bit full after celebrsting a late St. Patty’s Day but Correa is a Twin!! Optouts after each year, but I think this will be a good year. Correa is a great player, just needs to stay healthy!
  3. At first I thought this was Tylor Megill, a somewhat promising young Mets starting pitcher. Then, I got flashbacks of Matt Magill, the mediocre Twins reliever, Now, I see it’s Trevor Megill, a flame throwing reliever who somehow can’t miss bats. Falvey/Levine seem to be like Mr. Maggoo, as they are shortsighted in attempting to find elite relief pitchers at the bottom of the barrel a few too many times. I will be happier when the front office shows more megalomaniac behavior. This series of moves will most likely have little magnitude on the team. (I’m sorry)
  4. I am OK with Celestino and Martin being at AAA ready for duty, although a Chris Taylor signing would be nice
  5. I personally think all three of Posey, Mauer, and Molina should be in easily… I don’t think you can put in one of them without the other two.
  6. I am going to be so mad when Miranda starts out at AAA next year. He is already 23, and has literally nothing to prove at St. Paul. He can play 3rd, 2nd, 1st, and LF in a pinch. Obviously see why putting him on the 40 man this year would be a waste. It will be interesting to see what the infield will look like next year. Somebody is going to get traded, and it better not be the guy who has had the best hitting season in the minors I remember from a Twins hitter.
  7. Can throw 100+ but is going to need secondary pitches and some health to be a stud. Good high risk high reward pick
  8. If it was a perfect game, Rocco definitely wouldn't have pulled him. Since Berrios wasn’t going to finish the game, since he was already at 80 pitches, I am OK with finding a better matchup against batters, which Taylor Rogers clearly was. Johan Santana had his career ruined by staying in his no hitter too long, don’t want that to happen
  9. It can end up being an eight year deal. Dobnak can very well end up being the next Radke for the Twins
  10. With the Kiriloff news, I do hope that Rooker gets his fair share of at bats. Cave and Garlick have their limitations
  11. Luckily, there will be a lot of SS depth in free agency next year. Lindor, Story, Correa, Seager, Baez, Simmons, Semien. Even guys like Miguel Rojas, Brandon Crawford and Jose Iglesias could hold it down for a year. This isn’t the end of the world, but it will hurt the Twins’ salary the next couple of years
  12. I love this move. It always seems like defense is underappreciated on winning teams.... look at the late 2000s Twins, whose infield defense was incredible and won some games with great plays. Simmons is highly unappreciated, and is the Ozzie Smith of this era.
  13. Good signing for the 5th starter.... still need a bigger pitcher signing but I’m fine with this.
  14. I think I would go Bonds. Best plate discipline we will ever see. Clemens. Awful human being, but an incredible pitcher. Schilling. Similar to Clemens, but slightly worse stats and no roids. Rolen. Great two way player, and was a key part of a World Series winner. Helton. Yes, Colorado, but great career. Andruw Jones. Great defender AND slugger? (How is this guy so underappreciated!?!) Billy Wagner. Just remember his 100+ fastball... with that delivery...... unhittable. Sheffield. Never got suspended, and somebody has to make it from that Marlins team! Sosa. What a fun player to watch. Again, never suspended by MLB. Kent and Pettitte are only other contenders for me
  15. 99+ fastball and good slider. Seems like a Wes Johnson special to me..... Just needs more command of his pitches
  16. No, I love Kenta but he is under a long contract..... maybe boost his bonuses for his current contract? Hopefully the Twins learned from the Phil Hughes extension
  17. Other than Joe Mauer (who will certainly get voted in), it’s Johan Santana. I get he had a short career, but his peak was very similar to Sandy Koufax. From 2003-2010, he was overall the best pitcher in baseball (in my opinion). 2 time Cy Young winner, and should have won a third.
  18. Andruw Jones, Lofton, and Jim Edmonds probably deserve it over Torii. Great player, but not HOF worthy in my opinion. Of those mid 2000s teams, Johan Santana and Joe Mauer are the clear HOFers ti me, despite what the voters think
  19. Aside from the givens, I would add Rortvedt and Rijo.... Griffin Jax would get some consideration as well. If needed, I think Astudillo and Nick Gordon could be waived or traded
  20. Am weirded out by the Astudillo addition instead of blankenhorn or Wade but whatever
  21. His ejections were always hilarious, but he was a great manager who had limited rosters. Hope he has a great retirement!
  22. I think Rooker’s stint confirmed that Eddie will be gone next year. I love Eddie as a player, but Rooker, Kirilloff, and Larnach are ready to go and much cheaper
  23. Clevinger will be back for the series finale..... gotta win 1 of 2....
  24. Apparently its 10 games each against division foes, 4 games each against the NL Central. We won’t lose to the Yankees this year (in the regular season at least)!
