What ex-Twin playing still in the majors would you most like to see back on the team? And don't say Drew Butera!

I'd want Aaron Hicks.

And not Drew Butera.

Brian Duensing, so we finally have the pieces for that blockbuster trade.

But we’d probably have to throw in Duensing to get him.

Infinite Duensing loop.

Does J.D. Martinez count? The Twins drafted him in 2006.

Four rounds before Anthony Slama!

And 27 rounds after Danny Valencia.

Ryan LaMarre went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI as the White Sox blasted the Cubs on Friday afternoon.

LaMarre delivered an RBI double in the fourth inning to increase the White Sox' edge to 4-1. He then chipped in an RBI single in the sixth and a sacrifice fly in the seventh. He's having a productive season overall, slashing .286/.330/.391, though his lack of power and speed render him virtually useless from a fantasy perspective.

So... I guess LaMarre is catching on as a reserve outfielder?

I noticed the Niko Goodrum was back in the lineup for Detroit yesterday (he sat out a few games after a scary collision in the outfield last week) and got RBI number 47 for the year. That's 1 more than Joe Mauer. Ouch.

Back on the mound, Tyler Kinley got called up the Marlins and is pitching well so far. VERY small sample size with only 5.1 innings pitched, but he has struck out 8 batters and only given up 1 earned run.

Yeah too bad they didn't draft him in like the 26th round insted of the 36th round, but then he probably wouldnt have ever made it out of the minors.

Welp, as per the A's/ Yankees WC game, the ex-Twinks didn't exactly set the world on fire...

Hicks did OK, but the pitchers, whew.....

Oakland got the full FRE, and also the LHE.

And I was so hoping they'd be able to knock off those Bronx Bozos...

Pressly comes in to relieve Verlander with the bases loaded and one out in the 6th in game one of the ALDS. First pitch.... wild pitch - 1 run scores and the runners advance to 2nd and third. Then the batter grounds out on the 5th pitch and another run scores, and the runner advances to 3rd.

Sound familiar? Twins relief pitchers. Kings of the inherited runners scoring.

He did then get a K and a pop up, and pitch a clean 7th. It looks like he won't hurt the Astros enough to lose, though.

Idk, Pressly in 26 games for the Astros had a .77 era. He gave up 3 walks and had 32 strikeouts and a total of 2 earned runs. I'd say he's probably not hurting them too badly.

Had the Twins kept him he'd probably have been their closer instead of Hildendinger.

He allowed 4 more runs if you include the inherited runners, which is what h2o was referring to.

His 33% inherited runners scored in an Astros uniform matches his rate with the Twins. This is a little above league average, so it's not the automatic lights-out guy his ERA suggests he is. The Astros can see this as they have mostly put him in games when there was no one on base.

If you let three runs go in when you're on the mound but only one gets charged to you, that's nice I guess.

Bring the band back 2gether!!!1!

If Pensacola is on their bucket list, I'd have no objection to signing them.

Speaking of former Twins lefties, I had been wondering what happened to Ryan O’Rourke. He dpent the year rehabbing for Baltimore. Finally made it into a regular game in mid July. He’s left handed and breathing. He’ll find work.

Yeah... I would like to think that. Assuming the same performance is usual, even though he may have done just the opposite in a different butterfly effect. His first outing was not impressive in the playoffs, but the inherited runs didn't hurt the team this time. Doomtints helped lay it out.

I know this is mean-spirited, but man, how nice was it to see Lance Lynn reverse suck for the Yankees last night.  Maybe that could be what it takes to get rid of the Twins' Yankee demons.

Ryan Pressly has been one of the more anonymous ones. He’s been in the majors since 2013, but we’ve almost never written about him here. Rian Watt did change that a month ago. He wrote a whole article about Pressly, who was dealt from the Twins to the Astros near the end of July.

They're like everyone else. If a player is on the Twins, he's unimportant. :)

That’s the result of being largely irrelevant for most of the last decade as far as the playoffs are concerned.

FanGraphs is supposed to look beyond that. But no, as soon as Pressly is off the Twins and onto a favored team, He Is Important.

I'm just grousing, I know.
