When do you think you will be checking again? Just curious if/when this is going to break?

Couple hours, I don't want to bug her/him to much.

Probably just edited the text, pretty easy in Chrome developer mode. That's why it matches the site so well.

I've quit my job to follow this thread. I work(ed) as a blogger in my parent's basement.  My Mom understands my decision, Dad not so much.

Fortunately the pay is probably comparable, he'll get over it.

I've come to the conclusion that Dave's source is with the Dodgers.

I believe this is true -- he hears his information from this guy who conveniently lives on his bookshelf.

I've come to the conclusion that Dave's source is Dave.

Said screw it and rang up my source, I will paraphrase what they said:

-They are still very close, the main pieces of the trade are agreed upon at this stage: DeLeon+ Alaverez (There is still a shot at bellinger but it appears both sides have agreed with D+A as the first two)

-The hold up is in their opinion "The Twins are asking for too much for the 3rd and potential 4th pieces" Sounds like Lux is continually brought up, but the Dodgers refuse to include in him in a package already featuring DeLeon+Alaverez, the Dodgers are still pushing back with guys who may not "burn" them as much in the future, they feel that D+A is a more than fair offer.

-There has been some conjecture about the Yankees or Mets making a last ditch effort, but my source would be very shocked if either come up with anything realistic.

-Twins and Dodgers are keeping lines of communications open and it's an ongoing discussion, they both checked in a few times today with each side.

-The talk about Turner resigning doesn't effect the willingness to pull the trigger on the Dodgers side the source believes, this is also believable since he/she says the Dodgers are the ones who have put the offers on the table, it's up to the Twins to accept.

-Both teams would like to get this wrapped up sooner rather than later. Still could see news in the next few hours.

If this is true, this is an AMAZING offer. I like that the Twins would be pushing to add Lux to the deal, but there are still other quality prospects to be had, and getting these two (De Leon and Alvarez) felt too good to be true a few days ago.

Thank you for the update. Now I won't be productive at all this evening either :)

If this is true, the Twins would be nuts to not accept a De Leon+ Alverez trade. I can't imagine them not pulling the trigger and haggling over 3rd and 4th pieces.

I'll say this, this update will probably push this thread to 1500 posts and 70 pages.

Well considering I already cleared the source with Brock and a mod that I won't name, I think that's enough of a "source"

It's pretty ****ty and disingenuous to infer that I "have no source" or am "making this up" I'm sure if a normal poster said something about a Mod or Owner sharing a scoop and called them a liar or inferred they didn't have a source that poster would be banned on the spot.

You sort of invited it by saying "24 hours"

lighten up brah.

jeez.

Exactly.

Earlier, when we were told it was De Leon and Alvarez/Bellinger but working on who the 3rd and maybe 4th prospect was,  I said 'If that's true, not sure why our FO even cares about the 3rd/4th guy.  Take the two players and run before the Dodgers FO sobers up.'

Well the time would be now and I think there wouldn't be too many that would object to what could potentially be heading this way.  As far as the Mets I don't feel like that is a possibilty due to just having no place for him to play this season anyway.  They don't usually think beyond.

The Dodgers are offering DeLeon plus Alvarez and the Twins are haggling for more? Why?

This is like walking away from a multi million dollar real estate deal because you don't like the mailbox.

Reading between the lines IMO I think the Twins know that the Dodgers absolutely need Dozier at this stage, the Dodgers have the best SP on the planet and a pretty sick top of the rotation as well with Urias stepping up, they are definitely in "win now" mode. So IMO the Twins can hold out a little longer for a better package, also this being the first trade in the new ear, I can see the new Twins brass wanting to show that they are not to be pushed around when it comes to trade talks.

That's all MY opinion though and just something I have come to think during this time.
