Once done is done, though, don't you think he did well to not implode, and instead did as well as you could hope someone from the bullpen might have done? Giving the team the chance to win, as was stated. Yeah the spirit of that post was more in line with what you are saying, than a knock on him

Um yeah so i thought Varland had a great start, actually, despite the two home runs (I guess I needed a punctuation mark or something

ziggy Verified Member Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Pagan could end up being the Fireman of the year.

MMMordabito Verified Member Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 The Pagan avoided final Judge-ment.

Varland was probably thinking to throw get-it-over fastballs to start the game and the Yankees knew that. No harm to throw a breaking ball out of the zone in that situation.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 The Yankees don’t really have any Chapmans or Sandman’s this year do they?

DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Just popping in for a few minutes Howdy everyone. Missed the 1st inning. Guessing Varland had some nerves or wasn't in a groove after only 1 game at St Paul, but impressed by most everything he did. 3 bad pitches but really good otherwise. Impressed. Offense needs to step up and make something happen!

A left-handed bat that hits righties like Garlick hits lefties is an all-star (maybe not quite with Garlick’s defensive profile) Instead, he’s a AAAA guy. Doesn’t seem fair.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Polanco for Castrol. AK (or Gallo, whomever is fist) for Wallner. Those two are easy decisions for me. After that? They start to dig into guys that should likely be on a good MLB team. (I'm not convinced they need Solano at this point, but you can't argue with the start. I wish Julien played some first, or, better, practiced there all the time).

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 It also doesn’t hurt to have a Red Sox fan umping behind the plate tonight 🙂 (in other words, it’s been a strike zone in favor of the Twins)
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Now would be an excellent time for a clutch hit
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 I have a good feeling about this inning...
