MABB1959 Verified Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 We'll never know for sure unfortunately. My guess is he would have been given the chance, but I don't think he would have flourished like he did in New York. The previous regime was too far behind from a coaching/tech standpoint I doubt they would have fixed him.In NY there is just a different culture than when Hicks was here. As long as you produce you are good but if you don't watch out. There are high expectations not only from the fans but the manager and teammates as well. MN didn't have that culture. Seemed to me it was based on if the manager like you or not and if you were outspoken it did not go well for you.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Wow. That’s the worst slash line I’ve ever seen.Like Tim Tebow numbers without God on his shoulder telling him when to swing.
lecroy24fan Verified Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Kennys Vargas isn't doing well overseas....203/.345/.319 1 HR in 84 PA. With a 25 Ks and 13 BB. Maybe like in Mr Baseball they will find a hole in his swing?? Vargas was sent down to the minors a few days ago so that hole might be found there.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Danny Santana.....still a thing. Hitting .307 / .877 ... and he's still only 28 years old. (BABIP high, as noted).
Twodogs Verified Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Vargas was sent down to the minors a few days ago so that hole might be found there.Wow, I didn't know Japan had minors??

TFRazor Verified Member Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 Maybe like in Mr Baseball they will find a hole in his swing??Just ask the opposing pitchers. they seem to be finding the hole in his swing with regularity...
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Leeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww!I had neeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww idea. Fifth year with the team. Player/coach, part-owner, groundskeeper, and beer vendor?

Thegrin Verified Member Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Hicks was a lazy person when he played ball for the Twins. One can only hope that his injuries are real and he's not just milking them. (In case you didn't notice, I didn't like him when he was here. I was glad he left. And I don't care about any good fortune he may have had once he left.)

Doctor Wu Verified Member Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 Hitting .307 / .877 ... and he's still only 28 years old. (BABIP high, as noted). Not only is Santana still hitting well for the Rangers (now at .320) but also on the Rangers is Logan Forsythe, batting a robust .318. Not regretting that we lost either player, but good to see them playing well, at least for the time being.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Also on the Rangers is Lance Lynn, who tonight will face off against the Mariners, with Tommy Milone starting in his Seattle debut.
bird Verified Member Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Also on the Rangers is Lance Lynn, who tonight will face off against the Mariners, with Tommy Milone starting in his Seattle debut. This may be a partial explanation as to why the Twins are higher than those teams in the Power Rankings.

He's, uh, not done well since being traded for Moya. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/murphjr01.shtmlMurphy fares much better by Fangraphs, now that they include pitch framing. 1.1 fWAR in 299 PA for Arizona. (as compared to -0.3 bWAR)
Twodogs Verified Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Also on the Rangers is Lance Lynn, who tonight will face off against the Mariners, with Tommy Milone starting in his Seattle debut.A return of Tommy "May Day" Milone!!!! Hope he does well!

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Fernando Rodney Experience was released by Oakland today. After leaving the Twins he couldn't find the strike zone. I wonder if he is willing to be fixed in AAA for a couple of weeks?
