Danny Santana hit a triple today for the Rangers

He has raked — nothing has been hit over a fence, but otherwise he’s hitting during rallies and stealing bases and such. At least form what I’ve caught. I always ripped Molitor for playing him but I’d be glad if DanSan has an encore/ second rebirth before he rides off into retirement.

Nick Anderson and Nick Burdi have the highest K rates in the majors of pitchers with at least 4 IP.

Burdi's seeing some leverage in Pittsburgh too. A quick scan of game logs shows 5 of his 9 appearances have been in tie games -- 3 times, ties in the 9th inning.

Our old friend Francisco Liriano has a 0.00 ERA after 5 appearances out of the Pirates bullpen so far. (2 inherited runners allowed to score, though.)

I had no idea he was in the league! wow.

and also nobody brought up Ervin "dont call me Johann" Santana. If he sticks around Im sure we will see him against the White Sox.

I really hope we do. What's the all time record for HR's hit id one pitcher in a game?

It well may be Dustan McGowan who gave up 5 in a relief effort.

I dont know but I always liked him.

As did I. Even before his Twins career, but especially here.

He was really good for us, and well worth the contract.

But, eventually you just don't have it anymore.

As far as I know the big Happy Chef statue is still alive and well in North Mankato! Though I haven't been back in a few years and things could have changed.

I saw some time ago in the (not so) Free Press that the Chief was updated and his voice box repaired. Posters may now fill in their personal comments on another Chief, but please be kind! :) Oh, you said Chef? Never mind! :)

Brian Dozier batting .182 with 2 solo shots (accounting for all his RBI this year) in Washington so far. Hasn't been a great start for Doz.

And his home run last night came off Nick Anderson, who other than that, struck out the side.

Escobear is having a rough start, too. Avg 222, OPS 636.

Burdi had two K's in his 2/3 of an inning, but also gave a hit, a walk, and an earned run.

So 5 K's in 1 2/3 for those relievers, but also 2 ER.

You realize he blew out his arm, which seems a lot more important.
So sad.

No doubt... He's a good kid who matured a lot in his time with the Twins. Just incredibly sad to see that happen to anyone... And I like when former Twins do well elsewhere. Hopefully they look at Burdi's elbow and it isn't as bad as what it looks like it could be.Man! Scary situation!

Yikes, did not realize that, I just saw the box score.

I just watched the video and wish I hadn't. Reminds me of Joel Zumaya years ago.

Dan Winkler was the first one that came to mind...and then Dave Dravecky before that.

Tough to watch someone unable to keep his legs under him from the pain.
