No, seriously, they aren't going to sign anyone who will move the needle so maybe next Wednesday? Jaime Garcia.

Honestly, given the remaining options, Garcia might be the smartest choice.

 

I hope the front office estimates something positive from Arrieta that I'm not seeing because I'm not impressed by Cobb and I'm super not impressed by Lynn to the point of "ugh".

The Ask will be too high on the remaining top 3 pitchers and the metrics won't support the price so they will work their way down until the numbers line up and they will prefer a left hander and therefore:

 

Francisco Liriano 1 year deal... March 1st 3:44 PM

 

They won't be able to pull off a decent trade because the Free Agents Asks are too high for the metrics which drives the price of trade acquisition too steep.

A better prediction is that Falvey and Lavine will read this thread... continue to monitor it and scratch every guess off their list to show creativity. 

 

I think they want to surprise us all and they won't let our guesses ruin the surprise.

The Twins will sign the pitcher that costs the least. Signing date and time: 02/21/18 at 3:16 pm and announced in slow fashion to commemarate the slow offseason on 3/31/18

Why would he give up his lucra.... thriv..... succes.... well, modestly paying music gigs in the southern CA area?

Then again, it COULD be more entertaining watching him sing "Islands in the Stream" on the mound every 5th day than some of the alternatives!

I predict the next big free agent signing will be on February 21, 2067 when the front office signs the great great great grandson of Camilo Pascual to a "futures" contract (a new addition in the latest CBA agreement that allows teams to sign relatives of ring of honor inductees if they are under 10 years old).
