Trade came through at like midnight eastern time, which is where the Mets were, so he probably flew out late this morning. I imagine he'll get to Seattle early afternoon today and the Twins wont activate him until tomorrow. 

He didn't pitch yesterday, so he's probably available in that sense, but I just think they'll give him a day (and probably burn through some innings with the guy they end up sending down to AAA)

Agree. We may have a good idea of who's on the bubble to go down by who pitches tonight. Unfortunately, this is a bad pitching matchup for us so there may be 3 plus innings of relief work available when we are behind. my guess is the choice is between Fundy and Anderson.

My assumption is Fundy since Minter is a lefty. Not that that HAS to matter, but in this case it feels like it does.

Always wonder about these scenarios. They sent Anderson down for Sands, but he has pitched well. So has Fundrrburk for a while now. To me, Adams should also be in the conversation. A decision on Acton will need to be made in a week or so. Right now the bullpen looks……okay, but certainly not dominating.

I think they view Adams as able to give them multiple innings if needed (unlike Funderburk), which I think is generally what's keeping him around.

Also, other than Sunday against the A's, Adams has pitched pretty well recently.

The 9pm games are good for me because I'm really old, retired, and can do other things that need my attention all the way up until game time. I'm watching baseball most nights until midnight anyways. Also my wife appreciates the baseball not interfering with her evening since she is an early to bed and early riser. I'll sleep when I get in my 90s.

Not sure why you are dropping Lewis down in the order, he has producing and taking some of the better AB's on the team.  Caratini and Bell are a wash between the two of them, not sure I would take Bell unless you are giving Jeffers a day off behind the plate.

I like Keaschall hitting in the 2 hole. I think he should be there every day until Buck comes back, and even then I'd be in favor of Buck going back to lead off with Larnach in the 3 spot against RH starters, Jeffers against LH starters. Martin seems to be coming out of his slump so I'm fine with him leading off. my only quibble is moving Lewis back to 7 behind Lee. Both aren't really hitting but at least Lewis is providing some clutch ABs. His one hit a game always seems to be important.

Overall, I like it and like the concept. We aren't hitting so  a manor shake up like this makes sense.

Larnach has been really good leading off, I'm all for maximum Jeffers PAs, currently th Twins' best most complete hitter. One of Caratini/Bell could sit until either or both get hot again. Martin has been better than Roden since Roden was recalled, no matter which hand the pitcher throws with, but I assume Roden will start against righties.

Yes, Jeffers every game until the wheels fall off, please.  If that means frequently DH-ing him or occasional games at 1B so be it.  With Buxton out there aren't enough reliable bats.

I'm going to a concert tonight and won't be home until after 11:00 so I can catch the last couple of innings. I'd take another grand slam in the 9th by a Twins hitter for excitement. Hoping for zero walkoffs for a while.......

That homestand wasn’t the most impressive 4-2 homestand I’ve ever seen, but I’ll say this. Over the last couple of years, when they’ve played like that, we’ve seen losing streaks. There’s something to be said for gutting out a few victories when you’re not firing on all cylinders, even if it’s against crappy teams.

Couldn't wait to put Gray in the lineup.  We will soon find out if it is a platoon situation or not.  But a team serious about contending would not be running him out there except in an emergency.

SP: Foster Griffin (if the Nationals sell)

RPs: Luke Weaver* and Huascar Brazoban

*Weaver might be out of the Twins price range as far as prospects, but he would slide into a high leverage role for the Twins and is under team control through 2027. I would definitely be willing to give up high-end prospects for Weaver who is a proven back of the bullpen reliever.

4-2 with the offense asleep and nothing from your best starter.
