Nick Burdi just made the Yankees' roster after impressing this spring. Guy's never pitched more than 8.2 innings in a season back to 2018... oofff.

He's had a surprisingly good spring for Yankees. It will be a great story if he sticks with them all season.

Derek Law, former Sire of Fort Myers, has made the Nationals. He signed a minor league deal with them in the off season. I don't know if it was noted here, but Eddie Rosario's contract was selected by the Nationals, as well.

Ben Rortvedt is joining Goodrum in Tampa. He was traded by the Yankees in a three-team deal with the Rays and the Marlins.

Rortvedt is an interesting acquisition for Tampa. He might see considerable playing time there this season. Will Goodrum actually be on the Rays to start the season, or will he be stashed in AAA I wonder?

Oops, I just saw Stringer Bell's post about Goodrum in the other thread, so that answers that question.

Isn’t Nelson Cruz on the Dodgers coaching staff now? It could be a fever dream from this offseason.

I think you are right. He's now working for the Dodgers, of all strange teams, but is signing with Seattle for 1 day and then officially retiring. Ugh. My head hurts.

I tuned in to the Brewers/Mets game to check out all the Rhys Hoskins hullaballoo - whole lotta nuthin'.

But who was on the mound?  Old Friend Michael (Gulfa) Tonkin!  Heh... the Mets announcers even had a chortle over one of my favorite nicknames--

"Tonkin pitched for the Twins 5 years, then there was a Gulf-- until he returned with the Braves."  <barely audible chortling>  "So that's how it all started..."  <more chortling>

He blew down Yelich, then a walk, hulllaballoo, and a couple of ground outs- so he had a good inning!

**Oops- just noticed he succeeded Jorge Lopez- who gave up a run in his inning.  Old Friends galore!

Sano made the opening day roster for the Angels.  Here's hoping he can get his game back.

Marlins booth said this eve that Sano had lost 58 lbs via cardio, more salads/greens, and portion control. Hasn't translated to the bat. 8 ABs, 5 Ks. .111.

Grateral moved to the 60 day IL. Ouch!

Went from ‘probably ready by home opener’…to ‘probably going to 15-day IL’…to being placed on the 60-day…all within the span of about two weeks. They say a hip issue that stressed and injured his shoulder when pitching.

SANDY LEON signs minor league deal with with Braves after release from Royals.

As long as he is still good behind he plate, teams will find a need for his services.
