I see your Austin Brice and raise you an Austin Davis:

"Wait, Austin who??? There's no way he ever pitched for the Twins!"

He most certainly did, as Minnesota was his last MLB stop back in 2022 where he threw all of 1.2 innings, a number that Nick Gordon more than doubled.

I looked him up on b-r.com but stopped reading when I saw his nickname listed as Big Fudge.

I wonder if in those 1.2 innings pitched if Dick Bremer had time to drop that moniker on him.

He gave up 5 baserunners and 3 ER so they were probably loooooong innings.

"Ball four from Big Fudge to walk the bases loaded, and now there is some stirring in the pen."

Solid pickup at a bargain price.

I was surprised the Twins let him go; good bat with competent defense.

Agreed, He was having a good year for the Angels last year until that injury.  Liked him with the Twins, so I wish him luck ... even with the Tigers!

How will the season be for Sonny Gray, Kenta Maeda, Tylor Mahle, Jorge Polanco and Joey Gallo ? Will we miss them ? For Gray and Polanco my answer is definitely yes...

I hope Polanco has a great season; I will miss him for sure! Just don't need any of his clutch hits when we're playing Seattle though!

Not signed either

Feels wrong that Rosario is sitting around while Gallo got $5M despite his horrid year. Both hit 21 HRs last year and Eddie at least had a passable season and is only 2 years older... and not to mention Gallo's injury issues.

Gallo's defense probably factors in.

It does feel wrong, or at least baffling. Still a lot of good players who haven't signed yet. I saw that Elvis Andrus just signed a minor league deal with Arizona, and was invited to camp, and C.J. Cron signed a similar deal with the Red Sox. No guarantees for many veterans nowadays.

Old Friend Kyle Garlick signed a minor league deal with the Diamondbacks. He has been on the edge of the major league roster for the Twins for three years.

With Joc Pederson on the roster.

The D-Backs will need Randal Grichuk insurance.

I always get sad about losing Berrios.  I admit he probably did not want to sign with the Twins and we had to trade him for something.  Hopefully we will see "something" soon.

I think he wanted to play for a team with more potential than the Twins.

Was his defense really that good? I dunno, doesn't seem like a guy whose selling point is defense at 1B and passable OF play is worth that much.

Lots of money for lots of K's and passable D.

Adrianza at Short; Sano at 3rd for the Angels. MLB.TV free access.

Sano K'd in first AB and went yard in the 6th. Sano looks more fit than I have ever seen him.

Sano took off nearly 60 pounds before reporting to spring training. Now if he can jsut stop swinging at those low and outside pitches.
