I really wish his return game was against a lesser opponent. I feel like his confidence is low after his last stretch of run bad. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I thought they use DK today since our chances of winning are low, facing Scherzer and on national TV (don't believe they have won one this year).   Rocco is playing the odds since Cle is worse than Mn against LH starters.

I am hoping he does not make it though the first inning and he get pulled after giving up 11 runs.  If we are dreaming, might as well dream big.

No, but it dates you quite evidently.

Speaking of history, I watched highlights from the first two games of the 1987 ALCS this morning, capping with Berenguer's masterful 9th inning in Game 2. Put a smile on my face to sustain me through tonight's episode of this current Box of Chocolates I root for.

The streaking Nats beat the fading Marlins today. Arraez was 0-for-4 and is now batting .351. White-hot before the break, cooler in August. Just like last year. The Lopez trade was worth it despite the risk and my deep sadness over missing Luis's enthusiasm.

I predict fewer home runs tonight. Cooler drier air is more dense and provides more air resistance. Of course if we strike the ball the way some of our recent dingers were struck that won’t matter.

Longest I waited was 10 min at the original pronto pup stand. I didn’t bother getting Martha’s cookies or fries because those lines were insane. If you wanted to drink beer there, you might as well order 2 then get back in line.
