The lowest fastball reading has been 85.9 mph... Since Thorpe is Australian, does the fastball look any better in kilometers per hour?

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Can’t go an inning without an injury for Pete’s sake
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Thorpe hurt? I mean, Ryan could come up tomorrow...sure, that wouldn't be ideal, but still.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 They're just going to keep running Simmons out there, aren't they? Mind. Boggling.

ScottyB Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 How about Stotman? He’s on the 40 man, Albers and Ryan are not. Duran is on IL.

big dog Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 If Sano had moved his foot to the back of the bag I think he would have blocked Mercado off and gotten him out there.
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Well, at least we DFA'd Nick Vincent to bring Thorpe up and now we can bring up someone deserving to replace Thorpe. Possible Silver lining, people.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Why does Simmons play evry day????? Waive the guy and move on.
TouchEmAllGuy Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Just tuning in. What happened to Thorpedo?
big dog Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 And we used a challenge with a runner on first and two outs in the third inning because...??? I got nothing.
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Who's supposed to start tonight and tomorrow in AAA? Let's see if they get scratched.
ScottyB Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 True. 40 man spot open with DFA of Vincent.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Why waste a challenge on a play like that

I got nothing. This is one of those decisions that makes no sense--I would think an analytical front office would have done the math on the value of challenging in various situations. It's made even worse by the fact that the batter up is Miller, with his .437 OPS. Why focus on the runner at first? Just get the guy at home out.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Cleveland isn’t good enough for us to beat them
chpettit19 Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I may have missed this in another thread somewhere, but has Rocco explained the reasoning behind Kepler in the leadoff spot and Arraez hitting 4/5?

I have been asking this question constantly! I just don't get it. Arraez is your best OBP guy by a long shot and you are hitting him 4-6 every game. Makes zero sense
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Good pitching strategy by the Groot crew. Bean a hitter periodically to keep them off balance then get them out with mediocre stuff

The press here doesn't ask actual questions....... My guess remains the same, they want Kepler to get more ABs to hopefully break out of his funk.
ScottyB Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Next three starters for the Saints are Shepard, Burrows and Ryan.

I certainly can't imagine why the media wouldn't ask him about that lineup, but also can't imagine him giving a great answer to it either. Yeah, I was thinking it was maybe something about Kepler being more comfortable there, or changing his approach cuz he's in that spot to try to snap him out of things, but even with the changes to how the game is played, I don't get it. Would love to hear what the thought process is in Rocco's lineups.
