He's on a 1 year contract and there's not a snowball's chance in heck he'll be back. He might find a job but he's going to take a paycut and it's not going to be in Minnesota. Doesn't help us the remainder of this year, unfortunately!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 We just keep seeing team after team have late inning heat, and we got nothing.

No one really want to see him anymore. Regardless of a streak he may go on. No one that pays for the games wants to see Colome. It is just punishing the fans to make us watch him and to give him more chances to blow more games. You can't trade him. He has no future here and no future value. His is a dead man walking. Just release him immediately if not sooner.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Duffey rarely hits 95 anymore. A 2 pitch pitcher that has lost his velo and control.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 92 mph out of control fastballs.

I think LHP Brad Thomas and 1B Justin Huber round out the Australian contingent of Twins MLB players. Concur. He had a hit each* game he played (and some of 'em pinch hits) sadly his career ended up 13 games long or so... *every if you prefer.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Tyler Duffey is quite the millstone around the FO's neck also. Alas, I foresee them running him out in the same role next year. I don't know why we'd expect different results.

I have no problem with the front office keeping Duffey but the smarter play is to bump him down to the fifth or sixth bullpen spot.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Okay, Twins with the big advantage going into the bottom of the inning, which means they will do everything in their power not to exploit that advantage.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I caught up with the thread. Now i should look over the play by play...
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Perfect scenario here: Arraez up, Refsnyder on second. How will the Twins overcome this situation and find a way to fail?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Refsnyder! His name starts with Re and ends with er, and i feel vaguely disappointed it isn't palindromic... but it has more aesthetically pleasing symmetry than many names. All that to say it is fitting to see him on second.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 That was a stellar play, though.
chpettit19 Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 That's a great catch at 3rd.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I do not understand walking Sanó in that situation.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Hittable pitches. Damn. We needed that Gordon.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Oh, for ****'s sake. Cleveland deserves a W for their defense that inning.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 That puts Jeffers on 2 to start the bottom of the 11th. I guess Refsnyder is not the DH? Can you sub for the DH or do you lose it?

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Yep, the Twins season in a nutshell: Arraez ball: .650 xBA Jeffers ball: .550 xBA
