Lewis Thorpe has topped out at 89.4 mph on his Fastball, per StatCast. The lowest fastball reading has been 85.9 mph...

Since Thorpe is Australian, does the fastball look any better in kilometers per hour?

Beau Burrows would be available to start on regular rest. Although perhaps that would warrant an additional "yikes." :)

I'd rather see a better pitcher like Astudillo

Thorpe hurt?

I mean, Ryan could come up tomorrow...sure, that wouldn't be ideal, but still.

My money is on trusty old friend Andrew Albers.

How about Stotman? He’s on the 40 man, Albers and Ryan are not.

Easy to get someone onto the 40 man right now. Heck, just put Thorpe on the DL/IL.....

Didn't they just clear a spot by DFA'ing Vincent?

And we used a challenge with a runner on first and two outs in the third inning because...???

I got nothing.

This is one of those decisions that makes no sense--I would think an analytical front office would have done the math on the value of challenging in various situations.

It's made even worse by the fact that the batter up is Miller, with his .437 OPS.  Why focus on the runner at first?  Just get the guy at home out.

I may have missed this in another thread somewhere, but has Rocco explained the reasoning behind Kepler in the leadoff spot and Arraez hitting 4/5?

I have been asking this question constantly! I just don't get it. Arraez is your best OBP guy by a long shot and you are hitting him 4-6 every game. Makes zero sense

Good pitching strategy by the Groot crew. Bean a hitter periodically to keep them off balance then get them out with mediocre stuff

The press here doesn't ask actual questions.......

My guess remains the same, they want Kepler to get more ABs to hopefully break out of his funk.

I certainly can't imagine why the media wouldn't ask him about that lineup, but also can't imagine him giving a great answer to it either.

Yeah, I was thinking it was maybe something about Kepler being more comfortable there, or changing his approach cuz he's in that spot to try to snap him out of things, but even with the changes to how the game is played, I don't get it. Would love to hear what the thought process is in Rocco's lineups.

Albers would be on short rest Thursday -- he just pitched on Sunday, same as Charlie Barnes who is scheduled to start again Friday.

I’ll have an onion on this after I see the gun on Thorpe’s fastball.

Go ahead. Have three.
