For anyone who may be interested in what Littell has accomplished at AAA from 2018 to 2019:

 

 

He's improved at AAA as of late, and hopefully this year will go better for Zack after his handful of MLB games didn't fare well. With about 150 IP at AAA, you'd think Littell might be ready for the bigs sooner rather than later... if he's going to be a big-leaguer, that is.

Littell reminds be a bit of Liam Hendriks.  About as good (but not quite) as Hendriks in the minors and real struggle in the majors as a starter and it took a different organization and a move to the pen to be relevant.   About the same age when they shuttled up and down, as well.

 

Adams sucked and the Twins need an arm.  I'd rather see Romero, but Littell can do his thing and shuttle down again...

Littell is a better idea than Austin Adams, but that was true before Adams was called up in the first place.

 

If Littell can avoid a disaster he will be an OK bullpen arm with an ERA in the upper fours, maybe better if he sticks around long enough to get better.

Yes.  Adams was out of options, that's why they had to DFA him instead of optioning him.  Might be outrighted if he passes

I'd take Littell being on the roster as a long reliever, soaking up some innings so that less relievers have to pitch. I'll take an ERA in the fours in that role.

Maybe we should've called up Liddell instead. the other team would probably be too afraid of what he'd do to them in the parking lot after the game if they got a hit to even swing at a pitch.

The Wikipedia page says "In the first month of the season, preference is determined using the previous year's standings," so we are beyond that. Standings-order in their own league, then standings-order in the other.

I wish someone had whispered in Adam's ear BEFORE the Angels outing "you're going to get DFA'd no matter how you pitch". It would have been a true statement (probably)...and he probably would have retired the side in order. Most importantly, I would have gotten 45 minutes more sleep that night.

 

Honestly...how stressful is life for a AAAA pitcher under current rules and the way major-leauge bullpens are managed in today's game. I feel for Adams...and everyone (of which there are dozens) in his same situation.

League is only a tiebreaker when two claiming teams have the same record. So we are last in line for all waiver claims right now.
