I have no problems getting Mejia out there against their 6-9 hitters who have about a .200 combined batting average. Then get Rogers or Parker to face the heart of the lineup.

The excitement when the 9.39 relief comes in.

Stick with the front side of the baseball card at this time of the season. He's a distinctive looking fellow anyway.

Welp, the computer battery is running low, and so is this east coast denizen come to think of it. G'night all - bring this win home for me.

b-r.com offers "splits" for any pitcher's season. Here's Odo's for this season so far:

https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=odorija01&year=2019&t=p

Scroll down to "By Inning", and maybe linger on some of the other delights on your way there.

Four first inning runs in 3 games. Scoreless seconds and thirds, in 2 games. A run in two fourths. Three runs in two fifths.

His page for 2018, with greater sample size of course, demonstrates a 3-inning pitcher to my eye.

But the 3 innings take 2 hours to play, so you can’t really say his starts are short.

Lol he swings at what was clearly ball 3, hits a bullet, and hits into a DP. Baseball is tough

Just like they drew it up on the touchscreen of their newfangled cybermetric machine...

LaBombo - Please...We discussed this last night. It's an analytical, data driven approach designed to provide quantitative analysis.  It's not newfangled.

I really thought we'd be missing the D at 1st but Cron is a ballplayer

Hmmm.

This game seems to be out of the regular pattern:

1) starter cruises for a bit, then implodes

2) offense has 1 big inning, then tries to hold on, usually gives the team a lead, solid or precarious

3) the bullpen candidate for s*ck-du jour enters, gives up the lead

4) no chicken

It looks like a promising 9th so far- but when will there be a guy (maybe only Rogers at present), who when entering the game, the fans don't go, "omg, not this guy..."

C'mon, Blake.

C'mon, Twinks.

Cron's provided better defense than I expected along with worse hitting than I hoped for. The same could be said for Schoop.
