I dislike both cats and dogs if only for all the lazy and unimaginative minor league teams that simply append a "Cat" or "Dog" at the end of a drab word to come up with a team name. FIsher Cats, Muckdogs, Rock Cats, River Dogs, Hillcats, Sea Dogs, River Cats, Valley Cats, Doggy Cats, etc.

 

I conversely applaud the minor league team that puts some effort into the naming process and comes up with a unique name to grab your attention - the Gwinnett Strippers, for instance.

I've long said "Play .500 ball until the All Star break and anything can happen."

17 of our last 23 games are against the Royals, the White Sox, and the Tigers. If we can stay even with Cleveland until then we should be able to pull away down the stretch.

Perhaps the old and stale jokes seen so far have convinced you something is deceased here.

 

If you mean how to follow the game itself, for free there is a running log of the play-by-play at mlb.com - look at the menu on the left at that site and pick the Twins game.

 

If you want to watch the game, and are outside the Twins monopoly area geographically, mlb.tv will do the trick but it costs money. Inside the Twins region, you probably need cable.

 

BTW, the game is in Seattle tonight, so it won't start very early.

We used to have this described environment and it was incredibly fun, but for some reason, we let it slip away through a gradual eroding of what was always a blurry purpose and that blurriness makes it hard to define clear lines and here we are today asking if we can get back to where we were before, with the understanding that it’s a vague request indeed.

Long-time lurker here.  Last game thread I followed, I kept hearing Rodney Dangerfield's voice, "Tough crowd, tough crowd."  I wasn't going to abandon the threads, but man I wasn't enjoying them as much.  Started reading through this thread and it made me happy.  Like reading a Kevin Kling story.

Nice opening on the State of the Game Thread. They have been getting a little cranky lately. In 2016 when the Twins totally sucked we had a wonderful time on GT's. And I remember asking, I wonder what happens if the team starts winning. The gallow humor would be gone. And it came to pass. Our advice would be to not try to be either of these guys. But, if you can pull off the look with aplomb like they do, after apparently losing a bet, we won't say a word.
