Why are we wasting innings on a 90mph throwing Perkins? Don't we have any guys in the minors who could benefit from some major league experience?

He's cooked. There is no way, with his stuff, that he can be an effective reliever without a mid 90s fastball.

The sheer ineptitude of today's game is breathtaking.

From Gibson, to the baserunning, to Sano trying to barehand a ball that he didn't need to, to fake bunts that get runners picked off second, to Molitor's questionable bullpen usage, to hitter's squeezing sawdust out of the bat handle they're so nervous every time there are RBI opportunities, it's been a...wait for it...total system failure.

but one (Buxton's) wasn't a strike... but a perfect take.

Thanks!  Good to know - I am only following the gameday feed.  I was optimistic because both these guys have been hot lately.

And this is just the first game...

And then they put Perkins in and just throw in the towel.......

I'm really rooting for Perkins, and I know he has tried his absolute best to work his way all the back here, but you just don't come back from that kind of injury. I know he wants to earn that $6.5M salary but it's just not gonna happen.

It's hard to tell on Gameday, but I'm not sure Perkins is all the way back yet....

It is quite clear on tv that he is exactly as far back as his rehab numbers indicated. Which is to say, not even remotely back.

What a waste of time. Nathan was the guy we needed. Hell, throw Eddie out there! This whole Perkins thing is very depressing.

Perkins wasn't that bad. I mean, he faced 6 batters. He got one of them out.

Good enough for government work.

Shame on me, and shame on all of us who got excited about that 2nd wildcard spot.  We'd given up hope and moved on with life...only to be tricked into getting our hopes up again.  Shame shame shame.
