Bases loaded, nobody out. Bert: "Another great opportunity here." That's the kind of in-depth analysis I really enjoy.

You mentioned Bert and analysis in the same sentence without the use of a negative. That's never happened before.

Mauer was either half-assing that, or he is actually the slowest guy on the team by a long ways

That's what I was thinking. How was that even close?

How does slegers look?

He looks good. I think he is better than most of the starters in Twins rotation. He should be promoted much earlier.

It would be SO nice to have Garver instead of Gimenez who hits like a pitcher in the lineup.

If only he was capable of lobbing the ball over the plate when we're down 16-0.

Wet blanket though I may be with this, but Andrew Albers was absolutely fantastic in his first two starts in 2013. SSS.

That's what you get when you don't take advantage of opportunities. 20 HRs by the Indians here in 10 games. They are men, we are children.

Listening to the Cleveland broadcast, and got this gem; "When Kyle Gibson gets ahead, he doesn't attack the zone, he becomes Mr. Nibbles".

I have never been so sure of anything in my life as I am sure that I will forevermore refer to Kyle Gibson as Mr. Nibbles.

Hey, I was calling him Mister Nibbles earlier this year, before they sent him down to Rochester. It's when he stopped nibbling that he started winning. Oh, well.

Buxton did that steal exactly right. Read the pitcher's move to home, great first step. Merritt was trying very hard to hold him, but Buxton beat him.

I was just typing something like this.

Lefty pitcher, many throws to first, and Buxton finally steals on a fastball high and away against a catcher who made a strong, accurate throw. And the slide was smooth as silk. :)

A lot of encouraging signs from Buxton lately. Better at-bats, more power, great fielding, and his base stealing technique is really looking good. Merritt did not look that bad at holding a runner, but Buxton still made it look easy to steal on the lefty.

Watching sano is like ice picks in my eyes right now

Please someone fix this or sit him down.

He is a strikeout machine these days.

Agreed.  It's gotten to the point where I expect him to strike out, and am genuinely shocked anytime he puts the ball in play.

Exactly. I posted several days ago that Buxton was gradually improving his game, incrementally refining various techniques. i said then that it would take a few years to see what he could really do. However, what I'm seeing right now is starting to look like All Star MVP Byron Buxton. All aspects of his game are improving, even down to measuring his slide into second base.

Buxton still can further improve various aspects of his game, but if he continues to play at the level we are seeing lately, he will be an all-star next year. If he keeps getting better, he'll be in the running for MVP.

BTW, one thing he should do is steal more. 21 for 22 means you should double your steal attempts.
