Watching Gibson pitch is something akin to what I imagine dental work was like before the invention of novocaine.

Edit:  who am I kidding?  I'm old enough not to have to imagine.

Heck, you're probably old enough to know what it was like before dental work.

10Ks vs Salazar on Tuesday, now 6 vs Carrasco through 3 today. Plus 0 for 3 with the bases loaded.

Only bright side is Carrasco is at 69 pitches through 3. Keep working the count and he will be out of there by the sixth (along with Gibson).

Geez, Carrasco doesn't look good and he's still going through the lineup like a hot knife through butter.

If this is him not looking good, I'd hate to see him when he is on.

Buxton pulls ahead of Mauer in the home run chase. Can Mauer answer?

uh. He can answer, you may not like the answer, but yes, he can answer....

I don't know if I was hearing things or what, but I'm pretty sure they just said this the 6th time this month our starter hasn't gone FIVE innings. Pathetic

Alright, I think I'm at the point where I will say this for the first time: Gibson should be DFA'd. They've given him every chance to rebound, but it's incredibly clear he isn't going to get any better. Maybe he could be a reliever, but we have enough guys who "might" cut it. Try Slegers and Gonsalves in his spot and see if that works.

I think it's about time to sit Sano for a game or two just to give him a mental break.

I think it would give us a mental break, too.  Plus it would reduce the chance he strikes out 250 times this season.  Both good things.

I heard the same thing, so if one of us is crazy so is the other.

I'm not sure that helps us, does it?

Agreed, and I am a former believer. But, it is time to move on from Gibson (and Santiago)....

I agree.  I think his roster spot could be better used by somebody else.

Well that's a fun new way to run yourself out of a scoring opportunity.

Heck of a play by Gomes and Lindor though.  *tips cap*

Maybe if the Twins weren't so hell-bound on bunting, Polanco doesn't get picked off there. But yeah that's still on Polanco.

Please tell me Kepler wasn't bunting......

He showed bunt...but he didn't actually bunt so....so he wasn't bunting!

Showing bunt there didn't make any sense either though.  Swing away man!

Theoretical question:

Let's say the Twins option Gibson down today. Could he be brought up as the 26th man Monday?

At this point I really don't care that he would be on short rest. He can be worked until his arm falls off for as poorly as he has pitched this year. He's fortunate that this organization is so pitching poor they HAVE to keep him around.
