I am on the Twins' Game Thread, correct?

Seems to be too much positivity and actual game posts, weird....

They were talking about the last time the Twins reached the WS ... and talking about who was on the team, Blyleven and Viola ... and that they only won 85 or 87 games, that it was a weak central division, which allowed them to win the division with so few wins ...

Okay ... go ...

Actually it was the West Division but the rest is accurate. 85-77 regular season, fifth best in the league, then lucked into having the home field advantage in the playoffs and the WS because back then it rotated instead of being awarded based on the record. Flukiest World Championship team ever.

I'm enjoying seeing this.  I really like Buxton's at bats the last couple nights.  Mauer doubling into the right field corner.  Sano hitting bombs that haven't landed.  Now to clone Big Erv about 4 times...

Well, what do we have here? A ******* comedian?

Why yes, and don't be afraid to tip the mods. They're kindly people who put up with a lot.

After homering already himself and coming to bat following four other guys' extra base hits, I gotta think Vargas went to the plate just looking to put the bat on the ball and not try to do too much...

Now that I read the other posts I'll correct myself that it wasn't the last time we reached the WS.

You and Chief need to combine your answers ...

And if they said Central division ... um, yeah, wondering if they remembered it wasn't 3 divisions ... not just that it was the west.

It's kind of antclimatic watching Mauer hit after Sano...

A double just doesn't do it.

You were saying?

I know!  My eyes rolled back into my head after the 3rd hit in a row.  Kinda got the shakes now too.

It helped that this was prior to wild card and divisional series, so they only had two win two play-off series and not three.  It would have been a lot more difficult for them to win three series.

That's why I made the comment about the Texas announcers I did.

Buxton in on the fun!  Oh heck yes, this is a great night to be watching Twins baseball.
