Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Too easy. That wasn't the last time.Is that it? What else was wrong with that?
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I am on the Twins' Game Thread, correct?Seems to be too much positivity and actual game posts, weird....
spinowner Provisional Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 They were talking about the last time the Twins reached the WS ... and talking about who was on the team, Blyleven and Viola ... and that they only won 85 or 87 games, that it was a weak central division, which allowed them to win the division with so few wins ...Okay ... go ...Actually it was the West Division but the rest is accurate. 85-77 regular season, fifth best in the league, then lucked into having the home field advantage in the playoffs and the WS because back then it rotated instead of being awarded based on the record. Flukiest World Championship team ever.
Jham Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I'm enjoying seeing this. I really like Buxton's at bats the last couple nights. Mauer doubling into the right field corner. Sano hitting bombs that haven't landed. Now to clone Big Erv about 4 times...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I was going to say Brian.Me too, until I ******'d it all up.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Well, what do we have here? A ******* comedian? Why yes, and don't be afraid to tip the mods. They're kindly people who put up with a lot.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 C'mon Rosario, nothing special here. Sac fly buddy.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 After homering already himself and coming to bat following four other guys' extra base hits, I gotta think Vargas went to the plate just looking to put the bat on the ball and not try to do too much...

And if they said Central division ... um, yeah, wondering if they remembered it wasn't 3 divisions ... not just that it was the west.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 It's kind of antclimatic watching Mauer hit after Sano... A double just doesn't do it.You were saying?
twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I am on the Twins' Game Thread, correct?Seems to be too much positivity and actual game posts, weird....I know! My eyes rolled back into my head after the 3rd hit in a row. Kinda got the shakes now too.
wavedog Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Eddie "Ring around the" Rosario ....is it too late for the nickname portion of the thread?
70charger Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 That's about the only circumstance where Pork Chop Vargas will steal second.

Flukiest World Championship team ever. It helped that this was prior to wild card and divisional series, so they only had two win two play-off series and not three. It would have been a lot more difficult for them to win three series.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Now that I read the other posts I'll correct myself that it wasn't the last time we reached the WS.That's why I made the comment about the Texas announcers I did.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 So which of these teams lost 103 games last year and which of these teams played in the postseason? Such is baseball.
Taildragger8791 Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Looks like Napoli got cheated on that throw.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Buxton would need to get 25 hits in a row to be hitting .300.That's the kind of the hole he is in.So you're saying there's a chance...
bighat Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Buxton in on the fun! Oh heck yes, this is a great night to be watching Twins baseball.
snepp Verified Member Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Stop doing so many good things, I can't keep up.
