How are we all feeling going into this weekend's series against baseball's best team? I have intel that Festa will be starting tonight, but who knows?

For some reason the Twins think an opener works for Festa. I honestly don't know, but wonder if it's platoon splits against left handed hitters. If they use an opener for Festa, I hope the opener doesn't dig a deep hole for the Slim Reaper to pitch out of. 

My thought is that Wentz is rested and would be extra motivated going against the club that brought him to the majors and then let him go. If they go with an opener, he is probably the choice.

Edit to add: If they choose to give either a opener or early reliever role for Wentz, I wonder if it is his last chance to hang with the major league team. He has been unimpressive thus far.

Tonight in Detroit  , good chance of a severe thunderstorm at game time or by 7 pm ,

If they start on time an opener that could go 2 innings might just make sense tonight  , if they do start Festa and rains delay game then we might have a wasted start by Festa  ...

We'll see how our brain trust handle it ...

In the meantime while the rain falls, the Cedar Rapids Kernels just scored 5 runs after 2 were out in the bottom of the 3rd inning. The rally was punctuated by a line drive opposite field grand slam by Danny De Andrade. Good stuff.

There are worse ones out there, but it definitely is ugly.  The San Diego fiesta City Connects come to mind for my tastes.
