Good Lord.... That Correa contract is gonna be the craptacular gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving.

What. An. Unadulterated. Mess.

Yep.

Correa has been terrible. There's a lot of other stars in MLB in the same boat. I don't think it's in his best interest to play if he's impaired and he's been through plenty of injuries, so I'm believing he will come out of it.

From the Twins point of view, they don't have any reasonable alternative to C4. Maybe they could be blamed for that, but they are invested in Correa.

Paddocks ERA last three starts is 2.4.

And Festa's ERA in the same time frame is 1.38.  So if this is the criteria you want to use Festa should have stayed in the rotation.   If we are only get 4 or 5 innings out of Paddock, we would be better off moving him to the bullpen and putting Festa or Matthews in the rotation.  There is more potential upside with them.

Alcala with 41 pitches. Does he have options left?  I’m done with the guy.

Alcalá can't be optioned since he has gone over five years of service.

I am close to being done with him as well. He continues to tease with his stuff, but disappoint with the results.

Glad the Twins took 2 of 3.  But it isn't making me feel any better about them.  That was some of the worst baseball I've seen in years.  Boring sloppy ball.  Buxton catch was great and a couple other positives.  But they look very bad. 9-16.  And they play the part.

We’re getting 4-5 innings out of most of the rotation.

I don't have any hope this team turns it around, so my only rooting interest is now the attendance and seeing how low it can go.

Side Note: Twins have already lost more games to the White Sox this season than last.

The Twins have, in fact, provided the White Sox with 1/3 of their victories (including a 0-9 drubbing if memory serves) and their only road win so far this season.

I agree...please show some anger, please stop with the controlled, reasonable, automaton schtick. My god man, your ship is sinking and you are calmly directing the orchestra on the fantail. Why Rocco, why?

How many times did they swing at ball four?

How many balls were called strikes? Another brutal job of calling balls and strikes by the home ump. The auto strike zone looks better all the time.

They just beat the Red Sox at Fenway before coming here.

They need to move Paddack to another team's roster.

Most in watchable Twins team i have ever seen. A complete tear down is inevitable by the trade deadline. Too bad for that no trade clause on Correa....

Yankees could use a 3B and Correa would waive a NTC for sure. If the Braves get their act together, they could also be a suitor to fill a weak SS spot. Maybe the Tigers decide this is their time and Trey Sweeney just isn't the guy.

They have pitching other teams (Orioles to start with, Dodgers perhaps) could use. If they don't have bats that would help us what's the sense in dumping anyone.

Ok maybe Alcala..

IDK... do you think the Yankees or Braves actually want Correa period, much less on that contract?

He'd have to turn it around significantly, but the contract is not really a hinderance for either of those teams. 4 yrs/$133 M not all that different than the 7 yr/ 180M that Adames received. It's a fair market contract IF he shows he isn't fully a lemon now.

There'd be little to no return though. No top 50 prospect coming the Twins way.

Most of the good teams are pretty close to the budget number they want for this year. Adding $37M to the budget is not going to happen. They're going to require the Twins to take a contract in return.

Most of the good teams also already have a SS better than Correa.

I don't think they need to dump Paddack for nothing, but they need to trade him before he injures himself again. Don't wait until the deadline.

That's all true, but the Mets were planning on moving Correa to 3B when they tried to sign him.

Mark Vientos and Brett Baty have taken all the PAs there for them this year; both have an OPS that begins with a 5

The Mets are also probably the team most likely to ignore its own budget

If Correa can show some life, that would be a (still probably pretty unlikely) possibility.

Speaking on behalf of all Mets fans...no thank you.

Twins don't give a s**t about Alcala. 2innings on a crappy day? They seem like they don't care if some players get hurt & don't play well.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Large criticism I've seen here is Rocco doesn't get multiple innings out of his pitchers, but when he does with a pitcher on 4 days rest suddenly he's risking injury.

Paddack somehow threw his career high in pitches against the Sox (unbelievably his career hi was 102 pitches before yesterday).

Unless only the Twins announcer and me know this, I doubt interest in him has increased measurably...
