Perhaps his teammates should be concerned about their own performance because the offense has stunk for a month.

I get the frustration but I asked a simple question and you couldn’t answer it. And that’s the whole point. The offense has stunk so Margot isn’t taking away playing time from anyone who deserves it.

Its pretty darn simple now. Fall back 2 games tonite and it is OVER. 2 back with 5 to play is a real stretch....when you are not winning at all, like the Twins.

So--a win tonite is a must win if they are in the least interested in playing on. And then hope either KC or Detroit loses. Oh, and now there is Seattle. Of the 4 teams scrambling, KC and Twins are the sorriest right now.  Fix it now, or forget about it.

I believe this is the key. They appear not to be.

Tigers are playing so well right now.  If I'm Houston or Baltimore I would be desperately hoping to draw the other wildcard winner.  Unless the Tigers need him for game 162 Skubal looks primed to win the first playoff game.

Gonna have to catch the Royals.

Detroit just won  2-1 over Tampa,, , Twins best hope is to hope the Royals keep playing like the Twins

Beautiful Tuesday in Minneapolis, the Twins are a game out of playoff contention, and you can buy a ticket on the secondary market for a Fiver.

Being hot or cold has no correlation to how a team does in the playoffs, oddly. It seems like it should, especially because this is partly about health, but nope.

Our leadoff hitter in a "must win game" has a .632 OPS and -0.9 WAR on the season.

His career OPS against lefties is only like .750. It's not like he's Lane Thomas with a .880/.680 L/R split. He's just barely playable against lefties. How the hell have they allowed THIS to happen? 

I've not hated a player as much as I've hated Margot in a long time.

We can't read hearts so we don't know how each guy 'feels'. What we do know is what we see. Sometimes an entire team looks deflated and it shows in their plate approach. Sometimes they are so pumped you practically see 3 guys in the on deck circle waiting to hit.

Sunday what we saw in game 1 was a team that 'looked' like they were defeated after falling behind 6-0. What we saw after the debacle in game two when 2-0 us quickly became 9-2 them again was a team just not into the game anymore. It was pretty ugly.

Do they want to make the playoffs? In my heart of hearts I have to think of course. But how willing are they to do the hard stuff; the extra effort...to make it happen.

Detroit is on a serious roll. they play like they can't lose. There was NO WAY they should have beat the O's Saturday, but they did. Yankees are on a serious roll. Those two teams seem to have figured things out...as a team. Twins haven't done that...for a long time they haven't. So here we are...they must sweep the Marlins. Period.
