The Twins are in a pretty good position today. The key of the game is not letting Valdez go 7-8 innings, get into the Houston pen early, and sub back in all the LHB in the fifth and sixth.

No moral victories but I want to see competitive baseball, which we saw last night. For nearly two decades I watched the Twins be non-competitive in the postseason, I want to be able to actually enjoy

The outcome of the game is not the only enjoyment I derive from watching it. The Twins game was engaging and exciting for all but two innings. I had fun watching, even if the outcome wasn't ideal.

Whereas I turned off the Dodgers game after the second inning.

The Twins are in good shape for the next 3 games. Lopez, Gray and Ryan will start. The Astro's used Verlander, Abreu (he was nasty) , Neris and Pressly.  I doubt these 3  Astro relievers will be able to pitch effectively, if at all, today ,  Graveman is not on the Astro's roster due to shoulder discomfort. On the other hand, the Twins have  Duran, Jax, Stewart and Varlamd well rested and available and they will also be available Tuesday, with the off day Monday,  in Minnesota and probably Wednesday too.  The Twins have had a game to get over their visiting playoff team yipps and will be fired up for a key victory today. I know Valdez is tough, but just take lots of pitches, score some runs, get to the Astro's relievers and victory will belong to the Twins. I am more optimistic today than yesterday.

I'll post this again in case the same thing happens. I got back from the woods in time to watch the game, but missed most of the first three innings due to Fox showing the Texas Baltimore game on FS1. They were showing the Twins on FS2 and MLB Network which I don't have. It was mostly too late but I figured out you can install the Fox Sports app for free and watch on that until the broadcast switches over. Not ideal, but works.

We're going to the game Tuesday, so let's get home tied!!

This! Can’t win every game, even in the post season, but it’s fun to watch a competitive game.

Gotta cash in on early opportunities.   0-12 with RISP before Jorge's blast.   Valdez can be beat.

He's such a stand up dude.  Also, one of the best left handed pitchers to ever play.  I will never root for the Dodgers, but it's very hard to root against Kershaw.

I’m just hoping that the wheels are working at least ok for both Lewis and Correa today. They both had moments that made me wince while watching them run yesterday.  As long as they can turn it on when really needed I’m perfectly fine with not hustling out a groundout or not trying to turn an easy standup double into maybe hustle triple.

The problem will be home plate umpiring!   According to the Umpire Scorecards the Twins opponents In 3 games have been favored to the tune of 1.46, .96 and .43 runs.  Yesterday the umpire took the bat out the hands of 2 of our batters.

Texas  wearing out the Young Pitcher for Baltimore,  already 4-2  2nd inning,  Need our boys to do there part ,  be great to see Texas at  Target Field   Go Twins
