I'm just going to assume you used your moderator powers to make me look foolish.

But it is a nerve wracking day, it'd probably best to get them under a layer of booze to get a head start on the game.

Sure, jump to the paranoid conspiracy theory ... and you could use yours to correct it, too ...

Via DeLorean or phone booth?

If it was phone booth, I hope you said high to George Carlin for me.

I've always thought it'd be fun to order a Pepsi from Max Headroom just to see what happens.

TARDIS all the way, baby.

Yes.

This is a game thread people, get it together!

Sorry, the Scotch hasn't kicked in yet.

Mostly likely because I haven't started consuming it yet.  I should be ready by first pitch.

Unacceptable.

Should have ended with "Of course, I haven't stopped either."

Just got home from a trip to the doctor. Those seem to come around more often these days. I took public transportation. As I was sitting on the bus, towards the back, on my way home, a young mother with an infant sat down next to me. She was crying. Sobbing uncontrollable actually. I waited just a minute, but then I asked her what was wrong.

"That bus driver is so mean," she sobbed. "As I got on the bus, he made the most awful comments about my baby! He said my newborn was the ugliest baby he'd ever seen! Even said my precious looked like...like...like a monkey!"

"Well that's awful," I said. "Just terrible. Tell you what...it'd make you feel better if you went back up front and gave that driver a piece of your mind. You go back up there and let him have it, don't hold back...I'll hold the monkey."

In my defense, Scotch is my afternoon beverage.  The mornings are for coffee and Godiva liqueur or Screwdrivers.

I miss college.

I couldn't afford Scotch or Godiva in college.

Hell, I could barely afford orange juice!

Is the pitch clock still in use in the playoffs? Are all of the time saver rules of the last few years (3 batters per pitcher etc)?

Skipping the OJ makes the morning screwdriver much cheaper.

Now I need @Mike Sixels time travel method to tell younger me about this!

I believe so.

I think everything except the ghost runner in overtime.

Kind of reminds me of the old Flip Wilson joke about the ugly baby. Not pc at all, but very funny. Here it is:

Let the games begin! For me I have my two favorite teams in the hunt and I guess what I'd like is for them to square off in the ALCS...so I know one will be in the World Series. ITs 'love-hate'..hate to see either lose.

I went to Toronto earlier in the year to see Gausman pitch against his ex-team the Orioles. On that day, the O's got the best of him. Not by a lot, but he didn't beat them. Jays hitting has been rejuvenated of late so Pablo has to be 'on'. Would like to see a major crowd today too. Here in the East, its 'hot'...mid 80's. Rare for this time of year.

I think the Twins got it 100% right with their roster. Hope nobody gets injured. (I still haven't come down from the Bills beatdown of the Dolphins so I'd like to stay in party mode today!!)
