The most unwatchable twins team since the 90s. Baseball and the twins are a staple of my summer. Haven't watched a game since the end of May and definitely won't until changes are made. No longer planning to take my kid to a game on July. We'll go fishing and camping instead.

That will be way less expensive and a great way to father son/daughter time that used to be taking my boy to a game.  I can't even imagine paying a couple hundred dollars to sit in that heat and not even seeing a hit.

Lots of talk about Baldelli and I generally agree with all of it, but I put more blame on Falvey. He assembled this trainwreck. If this organization was able to develop pitching they wouldn't be forced into making trades. The Correa signing was ill advised. Many of us fans said so at the time and it's looking worse. Maybe he can still turn it around.

LOL...how do you turn something around that has be backwards since they were hired.  Either Rocco doesn't know how he could turn this around or is not allowed to try anything new,  IMO it is time to sit or get rid of most of the team and let the AAA team have their chance and learn how to play at the MLB level.  I actually think the AAA team would take 3 of 4 from the MLB team.

Well the good thing is Rocco said before the game that Buxton is no closer to playing in the field then he was at the beginning of spring training. 22K attendance the last two nights, wondering if that will continue?

Is 22,000 even half full?  Even sadder is do they care.

So I truly do laugh at the Rocco "Buxton is no where close to playing in the field" which requires running and throwing a baseball. So Bremer recaps the interview portion while buxton walks to 1st Base.  He then says Buxton can still run and steal bases even though he isn't in the field.  So, begs to question, if he can "run and steal bases" why the bleepity bleep can't he play defense in CF?  Maybe since he isn't use to be on base much in the last month he is out of shape.  What bunch of horse crap Rocco feeds the spineless media to not call him out on anything he says.

Other than that, Go Twins!

Unfortunately this team is exactly what I thought and said it would be at the beginning of the season... CRAP. Signing Gallo and Correa were huge mistakes and this organization gets to pay for 6 years for some of that crap. The one player they went out and got that I am disappointed in is Vazquez. It seems he has regressed to become just like the other worthless veterans on the team. Maybe father-time has caught up with him but regardless Jeffers needs to play more. All of the youngsters need to play more. As for Rocco, he's never had a smart reply for any tough question ever asked. I'll never forget the time he was asked about Buxton and Correa having scheduled rest days happen to fall on the same day. He couldn't figure out how to solve that problem. Hey. if he isn't smart enough to do that, he isn't going to solve anything. As for "A Plan", they have a plan, you are seeing it. Go out and get guys that hit HR or strikeout. Swing for the fences and if you miss, oh well, They don't want a single when a guy is on 3rd, or 2nd, they want a HR, and they usually end up with a K. That's the Plan. It is more than ironic that they let Sano walk instead of exercising his $10.5M option for 2023 yet they went and spent $11M for Gallo who is just as bad or worse than Sano. Brilliant!

I agree 100% with you on Gallo. Complete waste of money. He's a notch above Sano because he walks...that's it. He's not even hitting many over the fence either. I'm pretty much ok with the CC signing, even though he's not doing much so far this season. Rocco-Ball isn't working and imo, he's clueless. He has no idea what he's doing. This team is fundamentally flawed in a lot of areas...that's manager and coaches. The FO's plan for this team, is a complete disaster. I've said this before...nothing but strike out prone non contact hitters. It's time to clean house on this mess.

From what Rocco said, it sounds like we are likely NOT going to see Buxton play in the outfield this year. But if he's in that bad of shape, why would you even want him running the bases? Oh yeah, I forgot: he's either striking out or hitting home runs, so running the bases isn't a factor. Okay, he DID have the single today, but still, if he's that fragile just put him on the IL and get him healthy again.

So can we talk about putting the Twins #1 prospect center field? Thus opening up 3B for Lee or Miranda?

Agreed!

And I get roasted every time I ask this question, but I will ask again:  who exactly is "we", Rocco?  Are you the manager, or not?  If not, when can "we" expect one?  Because the FO can't manage from the penthouse, and you don't seem able to manage without their permission.

A manager I used to work for once said "we need a plan; we have got to have a plan.  I don't even care if it's a GOOD plan!  Just give me a plan!"  Does this team really have a plan?  If what we are seeing day in and day out is a plan, give me a new one.  I don't even care if it's a good one.  I can't be any worse.  🤕

The plan , the plan  , the plan  ...

Smiles everyone ☺   ...

I'm done smiling and have been for quite awhile with this FO and manager  😩😩😩 ...

Hope isn't a plan, but nothing is actionable.

Heh.

I really try to not read too much into these post game pressers or public statements. There are certain things that he just can't say and while he was clearly frustrated, a lot of what he said was just things that all managers say with a microphone pointed at him.

However, on this one I can't help but wonder if Rocco understood the question he was asked.

When asked about actionable... He responded by saying they were not going to react to one game.

Well of course... Reacting to one game would be horrible over reaction.

I assume that his mindset was the game last night and I assume that the mindset of the person who asked the question was a much broader period of time. Of course my assumptions are caused by my mindset so who knows.

Forget last nights game. It was one game. How about Is 3 years enough time to be actionable in the case of Kepler and Gallo? Is the entire 2023 season so far enough time to be actionable?

How much time is enough time to be actionable is the follow up question that needs to be asked because they are running out of time to actually be actionable.

If the Donkey you are riding wants to jump off the cliff into the Grand Canyon... you best get off the donkey.

This team is full of hitters trying to hit a 5 tun homer every at bat. Can someone teach them what a 2 strike approach is? And I wish they could hand out fines when someone strikes out with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs. This team has become almost un-watchable! This coaching staff needs to go!

This team is unwatchable  , but I keep watching waiting and waiting for it to turn around  ...

It could happen  but with this plan of theirs I seriously doubt it ...

If we need some extra bats, maybe we can talk Trevor Plouffe out of retirement. Hell, I'd even welcome back an overweight Miguel Sano at this point.

We have a winner folks. As far as I can tell Doctor Wu gets the "First to mention it" Bring back Sano Award. Not saying you're crazy or high, or just an ordinary guy, but maybe he's really just a shadow of the man we once knew.

You don't see any difference between the wear and tear on one's knees playing 8 innings of defense and hitting 4 times a game with maybe 1 trip around the bases included? Just the jogs to and from CF for 8 innings is as much wear and tear on his knees as an average offensive day.

This has been a mess since the start of the 2021 season and it seems to get worse.  This has been and continues to be one of the most boring twins teams in recent memory.  What makes these past three years tougher is tge FO telling us how good we are.  Dave st. Peter even said this team is a world series team.  Really?  Does he even bother to watch this mess?  At least in years past we knew the team wasn't going to be that good.  Now they sign free agents and make trades they say to help us.  If this is our window of opportunity I'd hate to see the bottom.  This team has been lifeless for three years now.  They play boring ball, make way too many mistakes.  It's also hard to figure out where they are going.  They tend to treat mist of their younger players with disdain in favor of washed up veterans with no heart.  Something needs to change soon.

Have you seen our AAA pitching? It’s pretty bad, their best starter would be Headrick who just got drubbed, SWR is a disaster and Dobnak has a WHIP of almost 2. The manager means nothing when your players are bad.

I wasn't thinking about pitching as much as hitting.  But eventually we need to get players up and a few starts or innings to see what they have.  IMO going forward this is more of an audition year now.

Our top hitter is only .179 behind Arraez.

If Arraez was still here, his average may still be the same but the large number of RBI he has now would not exist as some one has to be on base to get those.

So losing him has zip to do with the Twins failures, plus his fielding would make the situation worse.

If Billy Martin were manager, and the Twins played like this, you would probably see a lot of players with black-eyes.😬

I agree. The strikeouts that drive me nuts are the 3 called strikes. The batter never even swings. I have watched too many Twins take that approach.

Here is a statement that should tell everyone about Popkins. Trevor Plouffe made the observation that Kepler had a hitch in his swing. You would think a hitting coach would see that and address it. Not to say that would make any difference, but if he can't see that what else is he not see. We won't have to watch much more of this, because they will be in 3rd place heading to 4th place next week.

According to this, currently 38,544.

39,504 when opened.

Every change since then has resulted in a few less seats.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_Field

They are eliminating seats so eventually 22,000 will be a sellout. It's easier to make the capacity of the Stadium less than it is to field a good team that actually fills all of the current seats.

No, I think they're just reconfiguring to maximize revenue and/or better utilize space. Center field, for example, was changed from bleacher seats to the two level open areas with no seats but food options, tables and standing areas. The right field area is now seating behind a rail.
