It's not "angst."

It's disgust, drifting toward anger, and it's gonna be there until they stop with this bs.

Buxton has said the goal is to play in 130 games this season.   Getting angry he isn't playing everyday isn't worth your time, because it's going to happen.  On top of that he's started 21 of 25 games this year.   Jorge hadn't played more than 4 straight days until yesterday.  The Twins easing him back with an off-day isn't crazy.  Pushing either of them in April just seems reckless.

And Buck and Jorge did, who are absent from this game?  You've made it very clear you hate off days, but they are going to happen when they don't want to push guys, especially those coming back from injury.  The constant angst just gets tiresome.

In other news.   Holy cow, Rocco hung Kenta out to dry.  This HAS to end with an IL stint, right?

Buxton was scoped. Polanco had wrist surgery...leg/knee has just been 'an issue'.

It's a decision on how much rest and when. That's a big part of what this site is for...critiquing decisions. In today's case, it's the Buxton decision that baffles me. He finally had a day yesterday where he looked like he was getting his timing back. Boom...immediately on the bench. Hopefully, he can keep the trend going when he returns.

Maeda should have been yanked after the second inning. Weird how rocco picks and chooses when to listen to “the numbers”

He went 1-2-3 in the 3rd.  I'm not sure why he wasn't pulled after back to back hits in the 4th though.

Look, you can apologize for poor management all you want. I won't call it tiresome.

This is the game Miranda decides to turn it on?!?!

Hey. If it gets him going good, nows as good a time as any. Young guy, down by 10 and still battling.  That ball was up too. I can't believe he hit it as well as he did

The defense has been really bad... however, Maeda needs to go. There is nothing he has done this year that leads me to believe he can help the team in any way. If they are serious about contending, which I assume they are, they need to head to AAA and get Ober back into the rotation, where he should have been from day #1.

No issues with sitting Polanco, but Buxton? He has the bat going again and he sits on the bench... why? He ihasn't p,layed one game in CF so rest management days seems absurd.

There are a number of reasons to bump Maeda from the rotation for Ober.

1) Maeda is not the same pitcher he was before TJ.

2) Ober has performed really well. I don't think there is much doubt as to who the better pitcher is at the moment.

3) Maeda's contract is heavily based on starts/innings, so continuing to let him start when he doesn't deserve it could have financial consequences.

I could understand the NHL more than anything, back to back games maybe.

Baseball? No. Multiple times in April?? Ridiculous.

Self inflicted damage.

Kind of missing the obvious when you put the blame on the lineup.  Maeda's horrible start sunk this game.

Because if he pitched a 1,2,3 inning in the third why would someone be warming in the pen in the fourth? This isn’t a video game. And with the pitch clock it’s harder to get guys warm quick. Can’t just stall out there

Don't you think when he stated the goal was 130 games he meant starting in CF? He came out and said he is not a fan of being an everyday DH.

OK, maybe as a distraction from the ugliness, can anyone answer this? When I'm in this game thread (or any other one for that matter), and I get to the bottom of a page of comments and click on either: the next page number or the "next" button, why doesn't it go to the top of the next page? For me, it goes to the very bottom of the next page, which is a PITA, to then have to scroll all the way to the top to read the comments in order. Is it just me? Or is there some sort of odd settings  button I need to change/click?

Same. If you find out the answer, let us know.

Yes, mine does it too and it is semi- annoying.

Game could be tied now if Rocco did his job.

I know off games will happen, but if you play each game, to win, then maybe you can overcome a deficit of average proportion.  Baldelli kind  of eliminates that scenario by allowing the game to get away.  Difference between a tough competitor and a 'loser'?
