USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 He's trying to give you an out, FFS.
umterp23 Verified Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Pitcher throwing it all over the place. Jeffers was scrambling from the 1st pitch on where the F... the ball was going
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Passed ball. Gross. Gonna need a miracle to get out of this.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Gave this one away. Giving Correa a day off is more important than winning this game

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 welp. still a successful series but hard to stomach that one especially using Duran so cautiously. That's baseball. Until Friday, go Twins

There’s a high percentage for scoring in this dumb runner already on second deal. Doesn’t look good. Had a chance to push the Sox into the ditch. This makes no sense, of course they could. They have the $35M man on the bench, who was brought in to help the Twins win big games. You still have your second catcher on the bench. That was one of the biggest no-brainer pinch hit spots of all time, so the fact that Rocco didn't...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Just another routine gut wrenching defeat snatched from the Jaws of victory.
umterp23 Verified Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Rocco deserves as much credit for this loss as the players do. Holy bleep he has no idea how to manage his roster. What a joke
MMMordabito Verified Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Nobody likes the "play-for-tomorrow long game", Rocco/Falvine. Especially when you have Thursday and Monday off.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Bally breaking out the lipstick on this one.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 I’ve been all over rocco a lot but he made decent enough bullpen moves today. We’re just god awful in that department. Honestly need like 4 new guys minimum if we’re going to do ANYTHING in October. And I don’t mean maeda
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 I mean, I was hopeful that jax wouldn’t turn back into a pumpkin if given late inning work but he’s been kind of shaky. Maybe thielbar can step up but we’ve been down that road before. Everyone else is just a heap of nothingness. Literally need a minimum of 4 new guys. Good luck
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 So many levers to pull and buttons to push in this one, and Rocco just decided to sit on his hands for all for them.
umterp23 Verified Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 5 losses in extras were avoidable except Rocco has no idea how to truly manage a game.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Baldelli had this game with a 2 inning Duran save. Not ready for prime time.
Montdak Verified Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 There must be a reason for no ph for Jeffers. There better be.. And now we see he puts in a guy with control problems to finish off the big screwup. Wild pitch was in predictable. Why not Duran again? And a bunch of other why nots. This one is on the manager . Very bad. Half a dozen dumb moves.

And I don’t mean maeda Yup, he tried to bump Pagan down, gave Megill a shot as the setup guy... and still got burned, plus Jax looked bad. Maybe he should have sent Duran out for the 8th / 10th, but he can only use him so much. We need middle relievers and high leverage relievers... meanwhile, the front office twiddles their thumbs, as the only bullpen move the past week has been to get Minaya up and down. I get it if you can't make a trade right now, but at least try something!
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 I’ve seen the Twins give long leashes to catchers who are good defensively but struggle with the bat. We be seen the Twins give long leashes to catchers who have a good bat but struggle defensively. I’ve never seen them give a leash this long to a catcher who’s as poor at all aspects of the games as Jeffers.

Like I said in all my rants about him last week, at least try someone else (besides EP) and my ire can be directed towards the relievers more so than him. He tried and they all failed except duran and thielbar. I just don’t know where these extra arms are going to come from. Try to imagine a playoff series and realize that the starters will probably be pulled even more quickly than they are now. All the high tension outs they’ll need to get. Ugly thoughts..
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Jeffers is really disappointing in all aspects of his game. Remember when catching was going to be such a strength? 1 minute ago, Danchat said: Yup, he tried to bump Pagan down, gave Megill a shot as the setup guy... and still got burned, plus Jax looked bad. Could have, and should have, given Duran the ball with the 2 run lead for a 6 out save. I see no excuse with a day off tomorrow.

Gotta save him for tomorrow's day off. In all seriousness, division games count for two. Gotta win games against the teams chasing you. I'd rather sweep the Sox and go 1-2 against Texas, then go 2-1 against both the Sox and Texas.
