I'd like the Twins to erupt with 15 runs this game just to teach these AL East teams a lesson.  Just a wish but I would love to see it.

 

15 runs... you youngsters and your new-fangled, erupty offenses! 

 

I recollect that back in the summer o' 99, we'd have to walk two miles through throwed-away Todd Walker bobbleheads, from the ox cart parkin' lot to the sportin' hole where the Twins played, uphill both ways, and IF they scored a run we cried and hugged and sent telegrams to our kin to let 'em know we saw it happen.

Trade Sano for relief pitching if winning this year is the goal

Teams trying to win now don’t typically trade one of their starters when there are plenty of prospects to deal.

For anyone who may be interested, I'm simulating this Twins v. Red Sox game in Strat-O-Matic Baseball and we're losing 5-2 in the top of the 5th right now. Cave hit a 2 run homer but the Sox rallied 4 runs in the top of the 4th. Looks like real life Pineda is doing much better right now.

Just looking at his numbers, but Pineda seems to be figuring things out and is starting to look like the pitcher we were hoping he'd be.

He can be more than a five, that’s for sure.

 

Whether he can be more than a three is another question entirely.

 

But it’d sure be nice if he picked up where Perez left off a few weeks ago.

Old guys...Always crabby.

 

Embrace the Sabermetrics. Just because you had a V8 in your old Chevy doesn't mean the V6 in the Ford can't out tow your pickup today.

Yeah, you're definitely right.  We have no use whatsoever for a 26 year old with a .922 OPS, .377 wOBA, and 137 wRC+.

 

Definition of organizational filler.

He's been a 2/3 type for his career. I think him being a 3 going forward is pretty reasonable if he's truly rounding into post TJS form... not a bad deal for your 4th starter.

Hey, nobody look now, but Pineda is doing really well.

 

He's regained some velocity and his ERA is 4.20 over the past 40.2 innings, with a .670 OPS.

 

Ok, so I cribbed that from Cody C's 5th starter article, but you know what they say about plagiarism...
