Don Walcott Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 3-0. Doesn’t seem like a very safe lead at this point. We need to keep tacking on as many runs as possible.
wavedog Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Cron has sure impressed me with his fielding so far
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Cron has sure impressed me with his fielding so far Agreed, he's not too quick but he's a pretty smooth fielder.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Buxton 0-2 Time to move him back down to 9th
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 What do you consider clutch situations?Because in both late and close situations, and 2 out with RISP, Marwin Gonzalez has been absolutely brutal over his career, while Brantley has excelled. ok well specifically be i mean how many Championships has Michael Brantley ever won? After all this time on the Greatest team the AL Central central has ever seen(sarcasm included) and all his trips to the DL, I am perfectly fine with the way things turned out. Also, if I had a choice to start Brantley or Rosario in left field I would pick our guy every time. Is Brantley a good player? Of course I can't deny that. He is not a leader, he is not durable, and he has never helped take a team to an elite level. Their window of opportunity in Cleveland has been open for almost his entire career and he has never ever been a difference maker. Without looking up any statistics, there were plenty of other answers available to the Astros other than him. I am not going to apologize for thinking Houston made a big mistake when they did their roster revamp this offseason. The way the injury bug hits their middle infield they will be sorry that Gonzalez is in a Twins uni. I guess i put more stake in winning Championships than i do launch angles, exit velocity, and batting average against on balls put in play. (is that BAAbpip). We will get to see first hand how it all plays out. I just hope the Twins are still playing in October.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 I'm not saying a computer should announce when a pitch crosses the strike zone...I just want to hear a loud clank, like a cowbell the whole stadium can here. Then the ump can decide whether that loud cowbell noise justifies a strike call. No pressure...

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 I was really hoping Odorizzi would keep it high and away
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Gonna need more than three runs to win this one, especially with Rogers and Hildy more than likely unavailable.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 WOW now that is executing a relay!!
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Schoop couldn't have done that better.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Classic baseball play. Both teams pushing it to the max, Twins made a perfect defensive play. Skol!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Seriously Rosario played that ball like a Pinball Wizard!
David HK Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Well, Jake. Just checked into the game, in time to see that Reddick AB. Wow, it's just painful to watch him with guys on base. The Astros' announcers were over it, too. Announcer 1: He likes to mix in that slider against left handed battersAnnouncer 2: He likes to mix in a sundial, too, when he's got runners on. Watching him stare and stare and stare at Castro, then sigh and look heavenward, then step off and go through signs again.... and then, yet another 3-ball count. I'd be hitting the coffee machine in the dugout every half inning, just to stay awake out there in the field behind him.

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 It would appear the 'stros got the message not to give Eddie anything above his shoulders.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 I know steals are not smart with all the new analytics, but I would like to see us run a bit more. Polanco, Kepler, Rosario, and Schoop should be able to swipe 3 or 4 bags a month.
