Some lazy outfielding by six-time Gold Glove winner Gordon in left. Eddie takes advantage.

Thought I'd add that in case anyone had forgotten.

Like maybe Gordon.

Horrible throw home. Swinging at low and outside. Is the Buxton honeymoon fading? Berrios looks like a #4 today.

That throw home from Buxton was just a hail mary. That guy was going to score 99 times out of 100, nothing more he could do there.

I don't think that pitch was supposed to be in the zone but Cruz made them pay for the mistake, just like what good teams should do

Seriously? Nothing.... like a professional ball player with a great arm being on target, late or not? I totally disagree there. A bad throw is a bad throw. He wasn't even that deep. I guess I just hope for better performances as a standard.

Berrios is pitching well enough to keep the game close and the pitch count down. I am definitely not complaining.

Agreed. Lot's of #4s win games. Certainly he is not as special as he can be. Observing is not complaining in my book.

I just can't bring myself to cheer against the Royals pitcher ... you do the math.

And that is all I have to say.

Dude, nobody in the majors is going to throw out a tagging speedster on a play to home on that fly ball. We all are hoping Buxton plays better but that play doesn't illustrate his weaknesses.

The strikeout with 2 on and 2 out, on the other hand...

I was intrigued until this turned into a story problem.

Perfect examples of why I distrust defensive metrics in this game. Merrifield will get killed by the metrics for missing that pop up, that if Hamilton catches he gets extra points. Kepler missed a couple this year that he caught last year. Rosario gets little credit for his fire hose while Gordon will prolly win another gold glove for potentially costing his team a run with a less than 100% approach on single to left.

...and it looks like my campaign of "errors mean nothing anymore" will continue into 2019. Merrifield can't find a routine flyball, and gets counted as a double. Ugh!
