LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Some lazy outfielding by six-time Gold Glove winner Gordon in left. Eddie takes advantage. Thought I'd add that in case anyone had forgotten. Like maybe Gordon.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Horrible throw home. Swinging at low and outside. Is the Buxton honeymoon fading? Berrios looks like a #4 today.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 Okay, in front of a tele... What i miss?
bighat Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Horrible throw home. Swinging at low and outside. Is the Buxton honeymoon fading? Berrios looks like a #4 today. That throw home from Buxton was just a hail mary. That guy was going to score 99 times out of 100, nothing more he could do there.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 There we go! Cruz control!
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Great green light call by Rocco!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 lol after throwing 3 bad balls, they were actually pitching to him?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 Gave Cruz something to hit... We got us a lead!
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I don't think that pitch was supposed to be in the zone but Cruz made them pay for the mistake, just like what good teams should do
twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Berrios actually looks like he's getting better as the game progresses.

Seriously? Nothing.... like a professional ball player with a great arm being on target, late or not? I totally disagree there. A bad throw is a bad throw. He wasn't even that deep. I guess I just hope for better performances as a standard.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Berrios is pitching well enough to keep the game close and the pitch count down. I am definitely not complaining. Agreed. Lot's of #4s win games. Certainly he is not as special as he can be. Observing is not complaining in my book.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 Cron hustles out the pop up. Is that a seeing eye double?
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 More of that quality OF defense in the central, and I think KC has the second best OF defense
bighat Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Terrible AB by Gonzalez there, gotta get 'em over dude.

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Baserunning or fielding?Yes. Geez, that was way too easy.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 Full count to Buxton...

Dude, nobody in the majors is going to throw out a tagging speedster on a play to home on that fly ball. We all are hoping Buxton plays better but that play doesn't illustrate his weaknesses. The strikeout with 2 on and 2 out, on the other hand...
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I just can't bring myself to cheer against the Royals pitcher ... you do the math. And that is all I have to say. I was intrigued until this turned into a story problem.
Jham Verified Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Perfect examples of why I distrust defensive metrics in this game. Merrifield will get killed by the metrics for missing that pop up, that if Hamilton catches he gets extra points. Kepler missed a couple this year that he caught last year. Rosario gets little credit for his fire hose while Gordon will prolly win another gold glove for potentially costing his team a run with a less than 100% approach on single to left.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 ...and it looks like my campaign of "errors mean nothing anymore" will continue into 2019. Merrifield can't find a routine flyball, and gets counted as a double. Ugh!
